"Scootergate": Armitage Associates and Halliburton/KBR, Or "The Missing Motive"
Richard Armitage, the former Deputy Secretary of State, is being trotted out as the likely principal defense witness for Scooter Libby:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Libby

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Armitage

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plame_affair

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plame_affair_timeline

Moving on a parallel track is the civil suit that the Wilsons have filed against key players in the leak investigation.

Among the issues that could - should? - come out during Armitage's testimony: the relationship between his firm, Armitage Associates LC (AALC) and Halliburton/KBR, particularly as that relationship pertains to the lead-up to the war in Iraq. Halliburton/KBR's Federal Government practice shared the same address with AALC, and both firms stood to gain quite a bit from a "green light" for Iraq hostilities:

Laughably, the defense has said that neither Scooter nor his boss had any "motive" to leak: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16770023/

At least one foreign investigation has looked into the Armitage/Halliburton connection: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=french+investigation+halliburton

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=french+investigation+halliburton+armitage

Don't be surprised if the French investigators issue an "interim report" right around the time the Vice President is set to take the witness stand.

9. Now I've always thought it had to go deeper than simply war profit...
Otherwise, why expose Brewster Jennings? Remember F_wad wrote a second article about B-J.

Was KBR or the big friggin H into nuk-u-lar proliferation? Selling dual use and smuggling the rest?

11. Dick Cheney - American Judas
Dick Cheney exposed Valerie Plame to cover up his association with A.Q. Khan's Nuclear Walmart. Read about it here: http://s93118771.onlinehome.us/DU/AMERICANJUDAS.pdf

13. I'm surprised only because I thought they disliked each other
Not necessarily Armitage and Libby, but don't Armitage and Cheney dislike each other? Or, is that perhaps the reason he'd defend Libby? Or, am I getting my criminals confused?

I know Armitage was one of the big PNAC people, but I thought at some point there was a falling out between two camps - his and Powell's, and Cheney's. Am I mistakenly getting my administration criminals confused? It's so damn hard to keep track...
