Country of origin food labeling
Listen up! In light of recently disclosed dangers in our food supply we need country of origin food labels more than ever.

When country of origin food labeling is done away with, much of our domestic food production will go with it, and with it, our food safety.

My son and daughter in law work in the American breakfast cereal industry. Their jobs will be gone in a heartbeat if the lobyists convince congress to do away with food labeling.

Before you entertain the idea that there is no effort to do away with country of origin food labeling check out the following website, the first one that popped up in my search http://www.countryoforiginlabel.org/

Thank you,
A concerned consumer

1. Detailed labeling is very important - country of origin and ingredients
didn't the GOP vote to get rid of detailed labeling?

3. And the same for dietary supplements and other remedies
How can anyone put stuff into their body without knowing what it contains?

2. My sentiments exactly
Country of Origin labels for ALL ingredients - every single one of them.

Let consumers decide where they want their food to come from...

4.  I agree , but there are all sorts of produce that already have no lables
For all we know this stuff could come from anywhere packed with any sort of poison known to mankind .

Now ever though they lable food items how can one believe this is the truth , who is to make certain this is actually where the food came from . I saw a boxed juice tossed from McD's that hade 6 countries of orig relating to the fruit pulp , there is no way of telling with country ground up this swill .

Also they have closed or are closing 7 FDA inspection centers so here we go off to the world of lies and illusion .

6. Lies and illusion is how these fascists operate..........
With the war, with food, with environmental issues and even their religious values. All lies! And their followers are so fucking stupid!

5. I don't understand why it isn't. I always read the cans and won't buy
foreign products. I am afraid to. If they have fruits at the store I always make sure I wash it over and over. My son thinks I am nuts. I know we are not up on food inspection like we used to be before the bush administration, but the least I can do is make sure it is clean.
