Poll question: Is Bush the high-water mark in fascism as an economic and political system?
Admittedly, the Bushies were fascism-lite in that they still paid lip service to democracy even as they hollowed out and undermined the very thing they were claiming to spread.

Still, unlike Hitler who commanded one of several near equal world powers, Bush was leader of the sole superpower on earth and still failed, largely because the American people didn't like where he was going.

Will fascism finally start to fade from the scene the way it already has the last few years in South America? Or will the wealthy go back to the PR lab and come out with a more effective and enduring version?

The Bushites are FASCISTS and will become dictators if they can. Why else would they slide so many "IF IT'S BAD, WE GET TO STAY" clauses in every law, regulation, signing statement or executive order? Do you think they were doing it for FUN?

4. Maybe not the ARMY, but the CIA...?
And the FBI...?

The SS (Secret Service) will already take a bullet for this animal, and if you give the Army's weapons to the Private Armies....

5. not even the Secret Service. Remember story about people being ejected from Bush campaign events?
The people who did it were dressed like Secret Service, and when the ejectees told their story to the press, the Secret Service called them in and made a point of saying those were not their people, and they wouldn't do that kind of thing.

They were pissed off that GOP thugs were making them look bad.

If you were in the CIA, would you trust Bush after outing Valerie Plame, and being blamed for "faulty intel" after Cheney strong-armed you to produce reports that said exactly what that "faulty intel" did?

The other reason the CIA might not be on board is Bushies have outsourced 50% of intel functions and 70% of their budget. People whose heads are on the chopping block aren't going to be too loyal.

3. I'm George Dubya Bush, and me being a dictator would be good for democracy.
If you criticize me becoming a ruling despot, than you're just an Unamerican pansy liberal communist, ya hear?
