Chimpy's gonna block Turdblossom's testimony
Bush Likely to Prevent Aides' Testimony

WASHINGTON — President Bush is expected to claim executive privilege to prevent two more White House aides from testifying before Congress about the firings of federal prosecutors.

Thursday is the deadline for Karl Rove, Bush's top political adviser, to provide testimony and documents related to the firings, under a subpoena from the Senate Judiciary Committee. Also subpoenaed was White House political aide J. Scott Jennings. The Justice Department included both men on e-mails about the firings and the administration's response to the congressional investigation.

White House Counsel Fred Fielding has consistently said that top presidential aides _ present and past _ are immune from subpoenas and has declared the documents sought off-limits under executive privilege.

The House Judiciary Committee already has approved a contempt citation against two other Bush confidants, chief of staff Josh Bolten and former White House counsel Harriet Miers. The full House is expected to vote on the citation in the fall, but the Justice Department has said it won't prosecute the two.

1. Anyone ever feel like they are reading fiction?
What is going on behind the stories of Lindsey Lohan and Michael Vick stories doesn't even seem real anymore.

I don't know how I sleep. I just laugh.

2. After Bush/Cheney , Nixon/Agnew will seem like a quaint memory..
it seems to me that Bush is backing himself ever closer into the obstruction of justice corner.

10. Actually, compared to Little Boots, Nixon is starting to seem like
a man of integrity and humility. Kinda scary.

5. If Congress doesn't stand and take the control granted them by the Constitution they are going to
find out they no longer have that control.

6. It is a house of cards
This secrecy and blocking any information from getting out is not because of simply wanted to not look weak or avoiding showing weakness it is more structural. One little move and the whole thing falls apart. There are only maybe 6 or 8 of them involved in the whole governining (for lack of a better term) process and that is counting W in on it which is pushing it. They can't afford to lose Rove hell they had to split 3 jobs between two people when Colin left.

7. This topic doesn't even register with most Americans.
They are more concerned with Britney being a bad mom and may be losing her children.

America has been dumbed down.

11. Sadly true.
most Americans are to "busy" to be bothered with politics. They are disgusted by what goes on in Washington, but they're too lazy to do anything about it. Many don't even read a newspaper, except maybe USA Today, or some local rag.

Around the time of the election when they start running political hit job ads on TV and it constantly interrupts Oprah or American Idol, they'll form their opinions based on smears and lies, or ridiculous wedge issues that have nothing to do with their day to day lives.

9. Of course he can't do anything else
Obstruction is the last card, after this fails all will be revealed, It may take explosives to get the information out, but, it's down to foundation now.
