The Russian doctors recommend this treatment for stress..

1. Geeeeee, what backward idiots!
Don't they know that alcohol is dangerous? Why don't they just prescribe Paxil to those poor people?

2. Speaking of BBC America...
Don't you just love Gordon Ramsay of "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares?"

I hate television, but I love that show for some odd reason. I think it's because he makes me laugh.

4. Never seen him hit people, but cussing... yep.
Every other word is bleeped.

He's the guy who goes into failing Mom & Pop restaurants and helps the owners turn them around by fixing the menu, the staff, the decor, etc. - and he cusses blue streaks when the owners/staff act like stupid idiots. :)

7. I actually used to work in Soviet Georgia...
They have vending machines on the streets that sell pop-top cans of straight vodka, like soda dispensers in the US.
The workingman class usually hit the vodka machine at least a couple of times a working day.

Keeps everybody happy.

12. Amazingly, they're not even in the top 5 of per capita Alcohol
consumption, and I thought they'd be #1 or #2. Interestingly enough the US is at #40 according to this Economist Chart. I looked at Nation Master as well and could find Russia ranked anywhere (or any of the former SSR's, although I don't know if that's because they don't disclose statistics to western databases. (however, Moldova managed to make the list somehow)
