Dancing With Those That Brought Us.
Why are we here at Democratic Underground?

To spark debate on subtle differences of opinion that can only serve to divide us and therefore diminish our value as a cohesive voice for the Democratic Party? Nope. We all have our nuanced opinions of what is important today, or what is important this minute. We are all different and that is what makes America great.

I believe we are here...

Because we believe in the rule of law.

Because we believe in the separation of powers.

Because we believe in the separation of church and state.

Because we believe in a representative government.

Because we believe in checks and balances.

Because we believe in individual rights.

Because we believe in freedom to practice any or no religion without persecution by the government.

Because we believe in that the states and the federal government SHARE power as outlined by the CONSTITUTION.

Because we believe in Civilian Control of the Military - not control by Private Corporations or a Militarized Industrial Complex.

Because we believe in life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, the common good, justice, equality, diversity and the truth.

Because we believe in the fact that the power of the government comes from the people who are governed.

Because we believe that ALL people have the right to be heard.

Because we believe in the Democratic Party as being the BEST/ONLY hope to see that the values we hold dear are held steadfast and protected by the ones we elect to office.

We are here at DU because the country we love is in danger of being dashed on the rocks.

And RIGHT NOW we need to stand with the ones that brought us to this party and FINISH THE DANCE.

Why?

Because that is what SHE would want US to do.

Because that is how we will take back this nation and rebuild our country.

Because standing together, no matter what, MAKES US STRONG...

No, it Makes Us Invincible.

1. Wowzers!

*Very* nicely put, good blue person. Succinctly summarized and quotably phrased. Well done, dear sir or madam, well done.

Gonna print that one out and put it up on the wall right here next to my computer, so I can look at it whenever I get discouraged by all the monothematic agenda-driven online eedjits that surround us.

blessed be,
M. Loutre

3. The ideals and values are what brought us here to this party.
The Democratic Party?

Leaders can and do get voted out...it may take time...but I believe we need to stand strong and support all people who hold those values in high regard, despite the nuances.

Peace.

8. Not as lost as the Republicans.
And I for one do not see a single Democratic Leader hanging with the forces that are driving this country towards destruction.

They are trying to survive the onslaught and they are doing the best they can...

Look at Sourcewatch and check out the list of the leaders going to Cheney's Secret Meeting...no a single Democratic Leader...

No Fear.

7. We need to stay focused and put aside our nuanced differences...
Edited on Wed Sep-26-07 10:56 AM by saddlesore
There is nothing more important.

There are lots of issues out there right now, ready to nuance the hell out of the populace...we are being played like a violin...

I firmly believe that now, more than ever, we need to stand together NO MATTER WHAT the nuance differences...

Peace and No Fear.

edited for spelling...
