NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Nooses found at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy have left the school's superintendent disgusted.

Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Ray Daudani reported two people left nooses for a student and instructor.

Two months ago on the Coast Guard cutter The Eagle, a black cadet found a noose inside his bag.

The academy corps has 14 percent minority students and 30 percent women. Burhoe said the recent increases of female cadets have made women feel more comfortable.

4. Gawd...absolutely awful. But that seems atypical of any Coast Guard people I've known.

But, I'd also figured there minority percentage to be higher.

We have a station here and when you see them out in uniform together it is usually a mixed group of races and genders. They all seem to be enjoying each other's company too.

This is sad.
