President Bush has now deployed United States Border Patrol agents...to IRAQ
Edited on Wed Sep-26-07 12:49 AM by Bluebear
War Inches Closer to Iran

Iran's role with the violence in Iraq remains a major preoccupation of the Bush administration, with the U.S. military now building a base, practically within shouting distance of Iran an extraordinary step to curb what it says is the smuggling of advanced weapons into Iraq.

It will be called Combat Outpost Shocker, :eyes: and it will hardly come as a pleasant surprise to Iran that the United States will have a new base just 5 miles from their border. Col. Mark Mueller, of the 3rd Infantry Division, said it is the first time the U.S. military will be that close to Iran....

The Shocker base will be home to about 200 soldiers, as well as to agents from the U.S. Border Patrol, at a location where about 300 trucks now cross the border each day.

====

How does that sit with the "Minutemen" types who are so exercised about Mexicans coming here for "Amnety"? How does this square with the claim that the USA is SHORT Border Patrol agents to protect our "homeland"?

4. Old news...
We've had BP in Iraq for nearly a year, at least one presidential candidate was pointing out that we don't have any to spare six months ago at least.

7. Well it may be old to you
but this story is from today, and I don't think we had an outpost practically in Iran a year ago :)

13. School Crossing Guards can't be far behind....
with their "special training" and all, they'd be uniquely qualified to handle the huge traffic problems in Iraq. Oh, that's right. Most Iraqis can't afford fuel for their cars. Well, I'm sure the Crossing Guards can serve in some other capacity. Something like land-mine detection, maybe.

Those boarder control guys are there to keep the brown people as far
away from us as possible. Lou will love this idea.
Next thing you know they'll send the minutemen and build a fence.

11. SO in other words a base of operations to create "incidents"
either by sending men into Iran... or by letting it sit there a few weeks then blowing it up and pointing fingers at Iran.

Shitty thing is, I didn't used to think this way.

15. Remember that incident when the Iranians took British prisoners?
I think the warmongers were really, really hoping it would escalate. Like a kid at Christmas hoping for an Xbox and getting a sweatshirt. How it will go down-Gulf of Tonkin redux. There will be an 'incident' and now American people we really didn't want to do this, but we have been 'forced' to retaliate.

Unthinkable? Look around you. Could you have imagined where we are now?
