I have a complaint.

Lets say I have some friends that while not politically active a generally good folks. More to the point they are disgusted with the current Bush administration and the war in Iraq. They very much would like the troops home and consider themselves patriotic Americans for feeling this way.

So we venture down to a well organized protest in our neighborhood and are greeted with the following banners. (well not exactly these I think but close enough these are from last years protest as can be seen here. http://orlandodirectaction.us/aug12protest.html








While not card carrying AIPAC members by any means some refuse to support what they feel is anti-semitism.

Other protesters are saying our troops need to get out of Afghanistan. Some of my friends supported the invasion of Afghanistan and while it may be run poorly they certainly don't want the Taliban reinstated.


They want the US out of Iraq they could care less about Venezuela or Hamas






They are independents and Democrats some are gasp Republicans.

They want to protest the war and the attack on American civil liberties but they want to do it in a way that doesn't attack Jews or Capitalism.

I wonder if wonderful organizations such as St pete for peace and others around the country can possible set up anti-war protests that simply protest the current war and leaves all the other more divisive issues aside.

Something I could bring some friends to. You'll like them they are really on your side.
