A letter of apology to the sovereign nation of Cuba
To: The Nation of Cuba, its people, and its President

It is with the deepest regret that I personally express my sorrow and regret at the foolish and inappropriate remarks of George W. Bush at the United Nations regarding your nation and its government.

I wish that I could say that he does not represent our nation, but due to the current impotence and craven partisanship of our legislature and corrupt state of our Department of Justice, our Government is not following the law and attempting to remove George W. Bush from office. This leaves us in the unfortunate position of having Mr. Bush as our head of state and national spokesman whether or not the majority of our nation supports him.

I can only say that if and when the administration and legislature of our country passes to the Democratic Party there is some chance that we can become the friends and neighbors we always should have been, and the vocal minority of your expatriate elite that our country in its error saw fit to welcome will at last be silenced or at least marginalized to the point where they are meaningless.

Until then, it is my fervent hope that you will continue to exercise your seemingly infinite patiences with our foolishness, as you have these many long decades. I feel that this imaginary gulf between us will soon be bridged.

As I express my sincere apology for our nation and the misrepresentation of the current administration, I remain,

4. Americans have been conditioned to hate Castro and Cuba.
Most can't see past the 40 years of bullshit. There is a reason that Bush is President...I'm just sayin'...

6. Not me, and I'm 54.
I remember the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis VIVIDLY.

My Dad, the "Rockefeller Republican" (they USED to have moderates and liberals...I know that's a reach, but they did) told me it was a bunch of idiots in OUR country playing "My pee-pee is bigger that Yours" with a bunch of idiots in ANOTHER country.

DOG that man was SMART. I miss him.

I think the main reason this is a problem lies with those asshole expats from the old Cuban Ruling Class and their lackeys/fellow travelers throwing their conservative rePuke weight around in Florida.

8. I'll be 55 next month and I remember it all well, too.
I have always (since the 60's) been accused of being a "Castro-lover", but I just never bought into the plutocrats' bag...

5. Don't hold your breath on a Dem preznit normalizing relations.
Most all of our dem candidates hold a hard line on Cuba and American citizens's ability to travel there.

Except Kucinich. He is the only dem candidate who calls for an end to sanctions and an end to American travel restrictions.

7. When that happens, I think we will see a change...

...I believe that's one of those things they are saying to grab a couple of Cuba-Haters' votes.

Only an IDIOT would believe that the continued embargo...would..be....

Wait a sec...

9. Think I might actually SEND this letter.
Maybe I'll send it to a paper.

I'm going to see what must be done to mail something to a Cuban Government Representative.

12. You're welcome.

Let me know if you get a reply, because they usually do reply to messages that aren't crude attacks on Cuba and Fidel.
