Jenna distances herself from dad’s abstinence-only policy.

Asked if her new book’s advocacy of condoms and sex-ed contradicts the Bush administration’s abstinence-only policies, First Daughter Jenna Bush told ABC’s Diane Sawyer she refuses to endorse the views espoused by her father’s administration:

No, I mean, not at all, first, because I’m not part of the administration. You know, I’m just my father’s daughter. … I think that when we’re talking about keeping kids safe, and we’re talking about Ana and other kids that are living with HIV or other STDs … kids need to have education; they need to be educated in order to make the right decision for themselves.

In July, First Lady Laura Bush also rebuked her husband’s abstinence-only policies

1. Not the first time the Bush women have expressed opposition to views held
by their men. Too bad it's the men who have all the power and $$$$.

8. It's standard operations for Bushes. That way they keep moderate GOPs believing
that Bush won't REALLY get rid of Roe v Wade.

Which is true - both sides USE Roe V Wade as a scare tactic at this point. It provides GREAT COVER for the real agenda of getting justices with fascist credentials intact.

I expect that we'll be getting pro-choice judges named soon, but who will have records of leniency towards corporate powers.

9. Isn't Jenna the one that's pregnant?
She just recently got engaged but pictures taken of her and her Mom at a reception in July show her looking very pregnant.

2. Junior's life is not exactly a good example of abstinence-only.
He really doesn't believe this crap. In this he is just pandering to his fundie base.

5. Why should anyone be forced to defend their parent's views?
Or those of their children.? I love my mom, but I think she's crazy on
a variety of issues (only some political).

7. Mark it on your calendars.
When she's running for president, she'll call this a "youthful indiscretion."
