What Will You Do If Bush Attacks Iran
We have all been hearing the war calls lately, and now with this ignorant Kyl/Lieberman amendment
passing I have to ask this question to all DU'rs, What will you do if Bush/Cheney attacks Iran?

I know we went to the streets last time in 2003 when Bush illegally invaded Iraq
I dont know what to do anymore with this rogue administration, nothing seems to be working,
we can protest until we are blue in the face, we send letters and call our Senators and
Congressman, and look what we have with that.

SO WHAT DO WE DO??   :hi:

PS. I dont agree with Ahmadinijad either, I think he is a psycho, and I really dont agree
with the violations of human rights in Iran, especially to females, gays.
But that doesnt mean we should invade Iran, (Probably over false and doctored intelligence.)
We should work with them to try to stop their horrible human rights issues.

of Iran, and the mullahs are trying to get rid of his ass. So if we bomb Iran because of this looney nutcase than this country will have stepped over all bounds of humanity and decency because we know what a freakshow lying bunch of thugs are running our government. And we know what their true aim is, to get their hands on Iran's oil and gas, and make Israel's Olmert and Netanyahu happy campers.

edit: and we'll all be responsible because we know that bush** & Co. are lying murderous thugs and this is how they justified Iraq.

17. If we could do it without bombing innocent people I'd say hell
yes. But we don't have the skills or the contacts. And I'm sure that the mullahs would want to work with intelligence services from a country that has been threatening their destruction ever since they hijacked the 2000 election.

16. Oh Jesus, you know how old those B-52 stratofortresses are?
...they were first flown by the U.S. airforce in 1954-55 as models A and B, some 53 years ago and the last which remain, the B-52H were commissioned in 1962 and used over Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

<snip>
The B-52A first flew in 1954, and the B model entered service in 1955. A total of 744 B-52s were built with the last, a B-52H, delivered in October 1962. Only the H model is still in the Air Force inventory and all are assigned to Air Combat Command.

The first of 102 B-52H's was delivered to Strategic Air Command in May 1961. The H model can carry up to 20 air launched cruise missiles. In addition, it can carry the conventional cruise missile which was launched from B-52G models during Desert Storm.

The B-52's electronic countermeasures suite is capable of protecting itself against a full range of air defense threat systems by using a combination of electronic detection, jamming and infrared countermeasures. The B-52 can also detect and counter missiles engaging the aircraft from the rear. These systems are undergoing continuous improvement in order to enable them to continue to counter emerging threat systems.

Seems like we are stretched so thin in Iraq, the big draw-down that Bush touts is in reality troopers going home on a normal rotation.

What's the population of Iran,,, 5 times that of Iraq? Doesn't seem possible that we can go in there.

On the other hand the new French president was talking war.

20. Remain steadfast and vote Democratic.
It is the only way we can regain the country. There is not a single Democratic Leader that is in bed with the RW machine, it just looks that way. CNP, PNAC...all RW'ers. And for those that missed it...the alligator metaphor...

It is not like you can walk into a den of alligators and start eating chicken. You have to plan carefully...to all the outsiders, it will look like you are appeasing the alligators...when in actuality you are just trying to survive the day...

The pendulum must swing back.

Stay focused on a Democratic Win across the board. Period...

Together, we are Invincible.

No Fear.

21. Not good enough...
Voting for any candidate with a "D" after his or her name isn't enough anymore. We need to make sure that candidate is a Democrat and not some boot-licking, spineless toadie.

And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn
We're off to bomb Iran
And it's five, six, seven
Open up the Pearly Gates
Well, there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! We're all gonna die

28. Your proposal for making sure we got that good D?
Besides just scouring the voting records, which not a whole lot of people will do...

But what if there is not someone running that you agree to? Do you vote republican? Do you not put a tick on the sheet and just refuse to vote? What would you do? For me the lesser of two evils is still the lessor evil...

You do know that not one Democratic Leader is involved with the RW organizations that are responsible for all of the current mess? That, to me IS the issue. Who made the plans to do the deeds...

For me it is good enough, that to remain steadfast and have faith, that once the pendulum swings back, things will change.

Peace.

35. And how long do you think it'll take for the pendulum to swing back?
We are rapidly running out of time, thanks to the Lieberman-Kyl amendment.

And my take on Democrats is evolving to the point that if a candidate doesn't earn my vote, he doesn't get it. Howard Dean earned my vote in the 2004 primaries. Had either Russ Feingold or Al Gore decided to run in 2008, either would have earned my vote.

I grew up with WAR (Vietnam). Long one with lots of dead Americans. I began protesting when I was 10 years old. Less than two years later Nixon began withdrawal.

I do not think this war will be over any time soon...it saddens me to even say that. I am concerned that the war will still be raging when my 8 year old son comes of age.

But, know this - I will never back down and give up on the Democratic Party. I vote for those who give me hope, alligators and all. To not vote is to GIVE UP and by not voting, the Right Wing Machine wins.

Democrats are not a part of the PLANNING arm of the current Right Wing Extreme Machine. That fact alone EARNS EVERY Democratic Candidate my vote.

No Fear

And peace to you, I hope that you can see your way to voting - the only other options are :scared:

22. The real reason why we have to attack Iran is the same reason
we can't leave Iraq. It's because the Royal House of Saud has ordered it. From my reading this is the ony conclusion I can come up to. The Wahabi house of Saud knows that the Iranian Shia will help the Iraqi Shia to win a civil war in Iraq if we leave. The Saudis can't abide by that.

I think we need to send a new directive to Congress to investigate just how badly Saudi Arabia has infiltrated our government's policies in the Middle East through the Bush administration and it's sycophants. We need to demand no more Saudis influence in our government even if it means kicking our their whole delegation and sending them back to King Abdullah with a message. You may own the Bushistas but you don't own America.

31. Another Reason
Don't forget that one of the pinnacles of the neo-conservative ideology is to totally remap and change the balance of power in the Middle East. So for them, Iran would be the next logical step. Or maybe more likely, the next step in a plan that hatched, even before "W" took office.

Yeah, good luck with that. The world's societies, governments, markets and economies would be thrown into chaos. DC would be a bloodbath due to the heavily-armed police and Blackwater protecting the Crawford Caligula and Idi Dick Cheney Dada from the furious citizens.

Or stop electing Revelation-Rapture-following whack-a-moles like Reagan and the Bewshes.

But since that's never going to happen because Americans in general don't really like or want change, I say hide, wait for the shockwaves and hope we get it right after the fallout.
