Poll question: I'm switching to Dennis Kucinich as a protest vote from Edwards.
Will you send a message to the other 5 candidates on health care?

Today I'm switching my primary vote in NY to Dennis Kucinich in order to send a message to the other 5 candidates that I want single payer universal health care enacted into law.

If Edwards, whom I wanted to see get the nomination changes his views then I will vote for him in the NY primary. Until then I plan to vote for Kucinich in NY.

So the question, will you switch your primary vote to Dennis Kucinich as a protest vote in your primary or caucus and tell your former candidate that you want enactment of single payer universal health care enacted?

1. No. Can't switch, and my vote will not be in protest
it will be principled and decided on other issues than universal healthcare

2. Edwards plan has the end goal
of being single payer. Unlike Kucinich, Edwards has a plan to get us there. Kucinich, it seems just has his magic wand. Does he know that the President doesn't actually make the laws, he has to have the approval of the House and Senate to get anything passed.

5. Yes, however will the other 5 veto attempts passage of single payer universal health care?

Of course the President doesn't legislate by fiat but he does introduce legislation in the house.

The House can have their own version of health care also.

Would Edwards, if Elected threaten a veto of single payer universal health care?

6. I don't know, I think it depends on how it's written
But, then again, it always depends on how it's written. Would Kucinich veto anything other than single payer universal health care, that's exactly to his standards?

8. Chris Dodd's plan does
His plan has automtic enrollment and automatic subsidies. No mandates that force you to choose beteen insurance and rent while you're waiting for your tax credits at the end of the year.

10. Is the timeframe on that end goal in 50 years?
Or arbitrarily closer to infinity?

There was a time when UHC was a major driving factor behind the democratic platform...before some of our parents were even born. Now it seems like a talking point. Until I see someone put forth a viable plan aimed directly at implementing a single payer system, they are just pissing in the wind and electioneering.

3. He had my vote anyway (if he makes it to the PA primary). Next would be Dodd.
The three front runners do not impress me, and their emphasis on health INSURANCE instead of health CARE is why. They all loves them some corporations.

I think you should redo the poll with three options:
Yes, I'll be switching.
No, I like my other candidate fine still.
No, I'm already voting for DK.

4. Already on for DK.
Don't switch out of protest. Switch because he is a better person for the job!

7. I was already voting for Dennis
But I think it is a great idea to register your complaints with Edwards and the others.

9. Why not just do the right thing and vote Kucinich anyway?
Think of the message that would send. You talk about the people finally getting noticed.
