And good for Harkin!

Did you hear him say "I DID need to bring that up and I don't need to be lectured to be you." in regards to his adsking Pace about his views on gays as being immoral.

No doubt there are beatings, macings and the usual crap going on against our protesters.

10. forgive me, i jumped ahead of him
..General Pace-
he was told that it was no longer against the law to be homosexual, he replied that :
The military code of justice says it is against the law to engage in sexual acts outside of marriage and so to him it is illegal-

i shouldn't post-

i'm out of it

sorry for the mess-up

14. only if you are honest-
or aren't using this to hide behind-

life seems strangely unreal right now-

This is hypocricy at it's finest in my opinion- I can tell you that i know a dozen people who have been in volation of this 'law'- a few who not only did so with the knowledge of their superiors, but with their blessing....

I swear, it's like they're making it all up as they go along- changing the rules everytime one of their flock gets caught with his pants down (literally and/or figuratively- your pick).

On edit- Hell, the military even made films on how to avoid catching VD when you were messing around. Sounds like they were clearly endorsing "breaking the law."

6. Byrd was being a dick
Harkin too. "Get em outta here!"

They adjourned the hearing just to get rid of the "undesirable" people and then started it again. That's bullshit. This hearing is for the people, no one else.

Edited on Wed Sep-26-07 03:09 PM by abluelady
The code of justice the military follows needs to be changed regarding sexuality.

11. Jesus spoke of the same hypocrites in the bible
The ones who prayed in public so that all would see...meanwhile they were doing anything but following the word of God.

13. Yes, Hugh Blumenfield crooned it best!
Jesus hung with a low-life crowd
But those working stiffs sure did him proud
Some were murderers, thieves and whores
But at least they didn't do it as legislators :wow: ;)
So let's all sing out praises to....
Some long-haired radical socialist Jew.

16. beyond that, some tormented him trying to apply the "letter of the law"
while missing the entire concept of love, mercy- fellowship.

That is the message that draws and empowers me- not a foolish check-list.

White washed seplecures- cups whose outsides are clean but inside are full yeucch...- people who strain out gnats...

so very sad.
