senate-whores and congress-critters
The HIll http://pundits.thehill.com/2007/09/25/the-war/
has a nice front page article about what is wrong with this country - the war, the way Bush uses it to create fear, and how we are being, well, fucked, but without the lube and with no chance for an orgasm. Considering the line-up on the Hill, the article was no surprise, but it is always nice to see something written so nicely and convincingly.

No, the surprise (or on reflection, perhaps not) was their poll on the MoveOn vote by the senate.
88% - let me repeat that, EIGHTY EIGHT PERCENT of those voting were against the Senate-whores votes. Presumably, a similar number would vote the same way about the congressional fiasco this afternoon, as well.

What else went wrong today?

The Senate voted to give the Vice PResident all the political cover he needed to invade and bomb the living daylights out of Iran. Here is a country that sought to jopin us against Al Qaida, and no matter what you think of ahmedinijad, they are a sovereign nation with a religious based set of rules. They claim their god is no different than the christian god, and they also claim that our olde testament is worthy of note, with all the beheadings, stonings and rules and regs that many here would like to impose on us. just with a different label.

At least Biden's amendment passed, although I was frankly surprised that it did.

what a piss poor day.

Oh, and Mr. Obama, I want to single you out for your legislative bravery. So nice to duck a vote.
And Hillary, the blood of hundreds of thousands of Iranians and thousands more Americans will be on your hands.

as I said, what a piss poor day.
