Where I live, there isn't any noise ordinance at all during daytime hours.
Now, I love music. LOVE IT. OMG. I'm a rock and roll kinda guy, which is good, cause most people like rock and roll. Mellencamp, Springsteen, you name it. Call me out of synch with the times, but I don't own one of those fancy iPod things. No, I still have one of those boomboxes. You know, big, hand-carried stereo. I play my music REALLY loud, because hey, that's how rock and roll is supposed to be heard, REALLY loud. It really annoys people. I mean, it REALLY annoys people. I get dirty looks all the time, and sometimes people ask me to turn it down. I tell them "Fuck off, this is America, I have the right to listen to my music loud, so piss off!" Who do they think they are, telling me to not blast my music? Isn't my right to listen to music far more important than considering how other people feel?
Now, some people say that second-hand loud music can damage people's ear drums with continued exposure. But, I think those stories are all B.S. I've never, EVER met anyone with damaged ear drums from second-hand loud music, and I've seen lots of studies (paid for by boombox manufacturers) that say there is never any damage to people's hearing from second-hand loud music.
So, that is why I am totally justified in being a complete and total dick, and blasting my music in public places where other people are. Those people just need to fucking get over it, and stop trying to violate my rights to sm... I mean, blast my music.
p.s. I am liberal, a Democrat, and love my fellow man, as evidenced by my membership on DemocraticUnderground.com.
p.p.s. If you can't tell this post is about the assholes of the world that think its ok to smoke around other people that don't like it and they just have to suck it up and deal with it, you were not paying attention to the threads these last two days.
p.p.p.s. If you smoke around other people who indicate they don't like it, and you still do it anyway, you're an asshole. Have a nice day!
