Mr Gore, I think it is highly probable that if you place your name on the ballot you will be President in Jan 2009.

Mr Gore, politics in America, as currently practiced, is symptomatic of an anti-humanity, avarice-driven, corporatist and immoral system. The trivial, the banal, the viciousness, the lies .... are all evidence of a system protecting itself, a system that has zero concern for the fate of humanity.

Mr Gore, during the next 12 months you can change politics-as-usual in the United States of America.

Mr Gore, I suggest that that is the most important step toward any reasonable mechanism for averting global catastrophic disruption of humanity's efforts to become stewards of our planet for the sake of those yet to be born.

Mr Gore, you have a unique Presidential platform awaiting. You will be recognized as a national and global leader as you campaign and everything you do and say will be heard around the world.

For those who attempt the trivial, mean, banal response ... well they will face us - a progressive, intelligent social network of progressives with the considerable tools of an online community. You did not have those resources in 2000. They are way more consequential than the blather that Fox and other corporatist propaganda outlets spew.

Mr Gore, Be Presidential from now until Nov 2009. Mr Gore, you will be President in Jan 2009.

And, humanity will have reasons for hope, starting the moment you place your name on the ballot - hope waiting to emerge and be a watershed for your endeavors to save our civilization.

Environmental Rights Action /Friends of the Earth, Nigeria (ERA/FoEN), has congratulated former United States Vice President, Al Gore and the United Nation's Inter-governmental Panel on Climate (IPCC), for emerging joint winners of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.

The choice of Al Gore and the UN body for world's most prestigious award, ERA said in a statement issued in Lagos yesterday, has helped in further catapulting climate change into global socio-economic and political discourse.


"We have followed Al Gore closely since he wrote his ground-breaking book," Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit," to the celebrated movie documentary, Inconvenient Truth. "Al Gore, a humanist, environmentalist, politician and today's most prominent individual advocate of climate change, deserves this glorious award," said ERA/FoEN Director, Nnimmo Bassey.

"We commend the Norwegian Nobel Committee for shooting down the doubting Thomases as represented by big corporations and their collaborators who have attempted to undermine the inconvenient facts laid bare over the years by the Inter governmental Panel on Climate Change." ERA said.
