Bush friends and GOP officials: Bush is "somewhat disinterested" in the Republican race for his job

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/wn_report/2007/10/14/2007-10-14_gop_worries_bush_brooding_on_war_not_cam.html

<snip>

Even so, presidential friends and party officials report that Bush, in the view of one confidant, is "somewhat disinterested" in the Republican race for his job.

"He certainly wants a Republican to win and will help where he can, but my perception is he's out of the loop on the presidential campaign," said an official who sees Bush regularly. "He talks about it some, but distantly."

:rofl:

3. Replace "Republican Presidential Race" With Any Other Phrase
And it probably can be applied to Bush.

4. "distant" is the key word - each candidate would like him to remain as such . . .

6. He, or a member of his staff, might realize that if he takes an active
role in the campaign it would be a death knell for any candidate that he tried to help. His involvement would probably be more help for the Democrats than for the Republicans.

7. Bush to GOP:

"Get up, get dressed, and GET OUT!

No, I do not want your phone number nor will I give you mine. I don't want to see you again. You were great last night, but I had my way with you and I'm through with you now."

With that, the GOP leaves without so much as a wimper. Katherine Harris could have told them so...she's been through it before with Bush.

:rofl:

11. Why SHOULD he care? He's already concluded that Hillary will be the next Prez.
And disturbingly, that doesn't seem to bother him.

14. He's done the things he wanted to see done. Saddam is dead and
his family and friends have made engorged profits off his "war on terra" What happens next holds no interest at all.
