Fed probe could bring obstruction charge

It took an all-white jury just 90 minutes to acquit seven former juvenile boot camp guards and a camp nurse of manslaughter in the death of a black 14-year-old boy after a videotaped exercise yard altercation.

But legal experts say the eight defendants, who hugged family members and celebrated after Friday’s verdict, could face another legal battle if charges are brought in federal court. Martin Lee Anderson’s relatives were joined by black lawmakers and community leaders in expressing dismay over the verdict.

“It’s too early to say that the final chapter has been written with respect to the criminal justice system in this case,” said Kendall Coffey, a former U.S. attorney in Miami.Read More ...


There's been a lot of posturing within the states, the greatest outrage expressed with forums and messageboards seem to have been outside of the U.S. This is not discounting DUers.

9. There's now eye-witness reports of the murder.
No question this was a miscarriage of justice. I'm surprised people didn't protest when they saw they were going to put together an all white jury. By now, that kind of thing is a signal for a white-wash.
