Here's a current e-mail conversation I'm having with one of my RW friends:
Me: This is interesting. (I included a link to this article)

Him: What can you expect from a bunch of LIBS?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How does it equate to peace?

Me: You're just jealous because Rush Limbaugh didn't win. lol

Him: Considering the history of the award (recipients), kinda glad he did not.

Me: I think Al Gore is among distinguished company with these fellow Nobel laureates: 1906 Teddy Roosevelt...and a whole slew of others (too long to list here)

Him: (He responds with this link)

-----------------------

And that's where we currently find ourselves.

1. George C. Marshall also won the Peace Prize.
For every "unworthy" recipient, there are plenty more who deserved, as with Gore, to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

And to all those who repeat the meme that how does attention to Global Climate Change being about peace...after the Oil Wars, guess what we will next be fighting over?

Water.

7. Jeebus. What a bunch of Nazis.
And yet they still think they've come up with a witty denouncement on why Gore doesn't deserve a Nobel Peace Prize.

2. It was inevitable...
They were bound to attack every angle of this... Including the prize itself and the committee. These people are in such denial that they don't realize the potential global conflicts that will arise as a result of global warming.

Point to this statement, Could it be that Norway wants this guy as president?

Remind your RW friend that Gore got over half-a-million more votes than Bush in 2000 but was still denied the presidency, so what Norway wants is irrelevant.

8. That's the Sudbury Star,
not exactly a bastion of intellectual integrity.

The only Laureate that I can think of off hand that truly didn't deserve recognition was Henry Kissinger. There's a man who deserves a war crimes trial.

9. Why do you waste your time with a RWer as a "friend?" Do something
useful or fun with that time. You will never get it back once you flush those minutes down the toilet of fascism.

12. Never have understood how someone can be "good" friends with someone
who holds views that are so opposed to one's values.

Are the "political" differences simply variations on a theme (e.g. - you recycle everything and he only recycles glass) or are they more basic and deeper than that?

How can, for instance, those log-cabin pukes believe and associate with "friends" who condemn them to hell and work to assure that they do not have equal rights?

I just don't get it.

let's see... alternative energy sources.... any wars ever fought over energy sources? I didn't think so.

And that rag he posted - "Actually, we like Gore and his film, An Inconvenient Truth, even if - as a British court ruled last week - it contains colossal inaccuracies." You should point out that the British judge said that Gore's film was accurate but still had a few errors not in content but as to the amount of agreement over the details, AND that the film could still be shown.

"Al Gore's presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change in the film was broadly accurate."

Don't expect facts to change his mind - at least that's my experience with the ditto heads I know, but good luck!

EDIT:
I am brain dead today. "peaces"! hahaha! Sorry, I am a moran and my brain is screwn.
