SCOTUS not happy with Slappy Thomas' book

October 15, 2007 -- SUPREME Court Justice Clarence Thomas' memoir "My Grandfather's Son" is doing well everyplace but in the Supreme Court. With the utmost respect, the Supremes are supreme. Yes, the president of the United States of America is commander in chief of the Army, so there's always ammunition to protect his back but - theoretically - if the Supremes gave the Prez an order he - theoretically - has to obey. They are supreme, thus entitled to all the pomp and perks and poop. However, there exist eyewitnesses and earwitnesses to stuff some of them have been known to demand.

One of the things they are known to not like is for one of them to rise above the others of them. So, thrilled they're not with the success of Associate Justice Clarence Thomas' autobio. They've sniffed about a precedent that behooves sitting justices to not capitalize whilst on the bench. Phrases swatted about are "unseemly" and "breach of decorum." Besides unraveling his life story, he has also delved into the ways and hows of the Court. They feel it "irresponsible" for a sitting Supreme Court Justice to write about The Process.

Anyway, there's a book-signing here in town for Mr. Justice Thomas tomorrow. Sponsored by the Heritage Foundation, the Washington, D.C., think tank and cultural bunch here in town, it's at the Sheraton: 11:30 a.m. reception and signing, 12:30 presentation. Approve or disapprove of the man or the work, hear ye hear ye, the Justice's book launch in N.Y.C. is a major event.

2. Actually, The Supreme's Have Been Superb Compared To Most Of Our Government
They even handed Bush his ass on at least one occasion - when Bush claimed that he could ignore Habeas Corpus, they saif "No Motherfucker" in a 8-1 vote (guess who the 1 was!). That's way better than the "Dems" in Congress did when they had the chance to help out.

In general, the courts are the only thing that's functional in our government today.

Please give somebody... ANYBODY, a reason to throw your ass off the court.
There's a special place in Pin Point, just waiting for you, just before you make it to that special place in hell that's also waiting for your sorry ass.....:evilfrown:

Did he invite them down to the cabin, for a cookout?

..

This is why I think we need a whole new SCOTUS..

No one's eligible until they are 60 and no one can serve beyond 75.

By age 60, they should have a decent body-of-work to scrutinize, their kids would be grown & gone & they would have 15 years to sit on the bench ..and every so often we get a whole new court.. I think it's obscene for an asshole president to be able to dictate, via judges, 35-40 years into the future.. I don;t care if they are an R or a D, they should NOT be able to do that..

4. Why are they surprised?

Thomas took advantage of affirmative action and every other program he could to get what he wanted. Then, when he should have been an advocate for these programs, he turned his back on them and even voted to gut them at every opportunity including plaintiffs in EEOC suits. So to expect Thomas to be a team player is absolutely ludicrous. His only team is his self. He sits and simmers in his own world of misery that he has imposed on his own self because of who he is and how he is.

5. Personally, I like Diana Ross a heckuva lot more than Injustice Thomas. She's
cuter - and smarter, if you ask me.
