As a parent, I would totally be booing the Baby Einstein Lady...
She unleashed Hell in my house for two years straight.

4. One, it's not a small business and never was.
That's the "official story". Two, my sister in law (a Disney lawyer) sent me a bunch when they came in and my son would scream if I even attempted to watch something normal.

9. At a recent convention I attended, it said the best way to teach your
babies is by talking to them. The more the tv is on, the less they learn. Too much TV hinders language development.

8. Here you go... The link explains it better...
http://www.babyeinstein.com/about/01-02_history.asp

What irritates me is this:

"The Baby Einstein Company was started in 1997 by a mom when she discovered that there were no age-appropriate products available to help her share her love of art, classical music, language and poetry with her newborn daughter"

Why yes, normal CD's are completely inappropriate for newborns... What the hell was I thinking when I popped in that Simon and Garfunkel tape to calm my son's colic. I should have staged a puppet show with big rubber balls even. :sarcasm:

I'm not a Mom but I am an Aunt. Two of my nephews and I used to have a blast watching a couple of these Baby Einstein videos. We had our own interaction and little rituals we did at different parts of the videos. We had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs with these videos when they were still preschoolers. I don't see a lot of kids videos and would rather have a root canal then sit through most, but I though the Baby Einsteins were pretty cool. I think they're fine in moderation.

11. I think they are awful, but it's because my sister in law works as a
lawyer in Disney's marketing department. My daughter did just fine listening to classical music without the bells and whistles and my son became to dependant on them. It's the new "in" thing for new moms.
