Talk about a GIFT to Democrats. They need to call Pissypants bluff on this and let him stomp his feet and refuse to nominate another one after crying about how no attorney general means no national security.

What fuckin buffoon.

1. His corrupted AG resigns, and he thinks not having an AG is the DEM'S fault?
Further evidence the man is living in a universe without reason or logic.

2. What a pantload.
The Attorney General is basically a domestic law enforcement official. "National security" does not require one at all; that's not the DoJ's job except with respect to criminal prosecutions in the federal courts, where Bush *doesn't* want to prosecute alleged terrorists. The real problem for Bush and his stooges is that if an AG agrees that waterboarding really is torture and therefore illegal, they couldn't do it any more, and worse, they could be prosecuted for it. We're better off with no AG at all than with one who'd give this demented junta a pass on torture.

8. Bush's insulation is gone. He's getting a dose of reality, and he hates it.
He's handling it quite badly.

Further, I know it would be inconvenient for Congress, but during the normal recess periods, I don't suppose they could have one senator enter the chambers daily, and have the Seargent at Arms bring out the mace, so the Senate is technically in session, thus blocking recess appointments?

I vaguely remember a few Senators talking about doing this.
