3. Why not? Everyone else in the Senate is running.
The more the merrier. I think we have a vast shortage of Presidential candidates.

6. Has he always been a democrat?
Edited on Tue Jan-23-07 10:32 PM by fishwax
I know he served in the Reagan administration, but don't know if he had a clear political affiliation at that time. Either way, I think he would have a hard time winning the nomination because his democratic credentials are fairly recent. But would a VP slot be within reach?

11. No. Not now. Jim did a terrific job tonight, and the difference
between Jim's speech and Shrub's was starteling!

However.....Jim isn't ready for a National run, the same as Dean wasn't. I admit I'm biased on behalf of Dean because I still believe he was the best candidate and would have made a GREAT President!

washington politics is a cut throat game, and National campaigns are 1,000 times worse. You need to let Jim learn how to swim with the sharks and survive THERE before he ever begins to entertain a National run!

12. Not yet - but soon. Very Impressive.
I am *so* glad he has come to the national scene. I can not remember being so moved by a response speech.

15. Sen. Webb....he'll be supporting Wes Clark for President.......
Who is the one who was instrumental in getting him to run.

Just Google their names together.....

Jim Webb and Wes Clark: The Return of the Warrior/Scholar
The generation has turned. And instead I see Jim Webb, warrior/scholar of Virginia, of whom his new constituents in the Old Dominion today sport bumper stickers which read, “My Senator is Fearless.” He is the "monkey god" awakening an entirely new paradigm; a new generation and a new Democratic culture of leadership, professionalism, valor and excellence in all areas of governance and its attendant industries like press and public relations. And he is prelude to Wesley Clark.
