Two kids talking about the writers strike in line at the 7-11

One said they should give the writers whatever they wanted the other that they should just go back to work. Both agreed that something better be done quick to save the television season and keep new shows on the air. Guess if it's a prolonged strike these two could be blowing a few of their teachers and class mates away. I'll try to remember what they look like for when their YouTube video comes out after the shooting.

1. Sad... I might have explained to them why this is important
and why the shows are secondary

5. maybe this strike will....
get more people away from the brainwashing box and start paying attention to what's going on. Or will they just keep watching reruns?

10. RG Bolen has expressed his contempt for the artists who provide
the framework for expression of the human experience.

He doesn't appreciate it, yet somehow does, I'm just guessing. MKJ

14. Uh, ok...but how does that translate into presuming that these two specific kids would do that???
Your argument is empty. What you say is correct...you sarcasticaly say that no kids have shot up schools, and of course they have. So, your sarcasm seems correct.
It's a cheap tactic though (usually employed by the right) since the truth about the current conversation has nothing to do with your point.

15. I'm not making a prediction they are going to but they very well might

you have no way of knowing which ones of them will and which ones of them won't shoot up a school.

18. And the lack of new original content on TV is going to make them shoot up their schools?
Sorry, I just do not see the cause/effect relationship here.

20. Maybe they could join the picket lines instead of a killing spree...
Either that, or form their own splinter group protesting the writers.
Teach them about civic involvement.

What do we want?
"New and original content on TV, so we don't go on a shooting spree!"
When do we want it?
"Prime time tonight, 7pm eastern, or at least before the next Heroes episode!"

Writin' is hard work.

25. You never know what is going to set them off. they were pretty upset at the idea of losing

a television season.

Like I said you never know what can make these monsters go over the edge.

12. No, the big sticking issue is the future of compensation structures
in a new media environment.

I should think that that's an issue worth fighting for, and that labeling it merely 4 cents per DVD is a rather simplistic take on the problem.

13. Yes
internet compensation is a big issue - but nobody has yet figured that out.

writers get 4 cents per DVD now. They want 8 cents. That's the only concrete point - nobody has any idea how to make money off the internet yet - unless you're selling physical goods.

Why do you think they'd go shoot up their school over a writer's strike?
