UFO panel at National Press Club tommorrow!

http://www.ufo-blog.com/ufo-blog/2007/11/is-full-ufo-disclosure-beckoning.html

Former Arizona Governor Fife Symington will be moderating a November 12 event at the National Press Club where he will discuss the Phoenix Lights incident. He says he will be joined by 14 former high-ranking military and government officials from seven countries who will share evidence from what they call their own UFO experiences and investigations.

Fife Symington says he nearly had a close encounter while governor of Arizona.

(CNN) -- In 1997, during my second term as governor of Arizona, I saw something that defied logic and challenged my reality.

I witnessed a massive delta-shaped, craft silently navigate over Squaw Peak, a mountain range in Phoenix, Arizona. It was truly breathtaking. I was absolutely stunned because I was turning to the west looking for the distant Phoenix Lights.
http://edition.cnn.com/2007/TECH/science/11/09/simington.ufocommentary/index.html

To my astonishment this apparition appeared; this dramatically large, very distinctive leading edge with some enormous lights was traveling through the Arizona sky.

As a pilot and a former Air Force Officer, I can definitively say that this craft did not resemble any man-made object I'd ever seen. And it was certainly not high-altitude flares because flares don't fly in formation.

The incident was witnessed by hundreds -- if not thousands -- of people in Arizona, and my office was besieged with phone calls from very concerned Arizonians.

The growing hysteria intensified when the story broke nationally. I decided to lighten the mood of the state by calling a press conference where my chief of staff arrived in an alien costume. We managed to lessen the sense of panic but, at the same time, upset many of my constituents.

I would now like to set the record straight. I never meant to ridicule anyone. My office did make inquiries as to the origin of the craft, but to this day they remain unanswered.

Eventually the Air Force claimed responsibility stating that they dropped flares.

This is indicative of the attitude from official channels. We get explanations that fly in the face of the facts. Explanations like weather balloons, swamp gas and military flares.

I was never happy with the Air Force's silly explanation. There might very well have been military flares in the sky that evening, but what I and hundreds of others saw had nothing to do with that.

I now know that I am not alone. There are many high-ranking military, aviation and government officials who share my concerns. While on active duty, they have either witnessed a UFO incident or have conducted an official investigation into UFO cases relevant to aviation safety and national security.

By speaking out with me, these people are putting their reputations on the line. They have fought in wars, guarded top secret weapons arsenals and protected our nation's skies.

We want the government to stop putting out stories that perpetuate the myth that all UFOs can be explained away in down-to-earth conventional terms. Investigations need to be re-opened, documents need to be unsealed and the idea of an open dialogue can no longer be shunned.

Incidents like these are not going away. About a year ago, Chicago's O'Hare International Airport experienced a UFO event that made national and international headlines.

What I saw in the Arizona sky goes beyond conventional explanations. When it comes to events of this nature that are still completely unsolved, we deserve more openness in government, especially our own.

2. OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE!
I WANT TO SEE THE NATIONAL PRESS CLUB TALK ABOUT SIBEL EDMONDS OR ILLEGAL NSA WIRETAPPING OR SOMETHING IMPORTANT!

There are NO aliens buzzing or roaming the Earth! UFOs are EXACTLY THAT: Unidentified Flying Objects. I'm looking out the window at one right now. It's about 30 miles away and it's leaving a trail in the sky. Hell, it could just be an airliner on approach to DFW Airport for all I know but I sure as hell can't tell what it is from here.

For aliens or UFOs from another planet to be here would mean that the aliens had figured out how to violate the laws of physics. Folks, it's just too damned far from here to anywhere else in the galaxy, much less the universe, that could harbor a civilization that is capable of such a feat. And if they could violate physics, then we would surely be talking with them on the phone like far-flung lovers trying to perpetuate a long-distance love affair. But like such relationships, for the most part, Earthlings and aliens could NEVER rendezvous in an impassioned embrace. I'm not saying alien life doesn't exist. I'm sure it does. But time and physics just are not on the side of biological life forms no matter where they are from or how advanced they get.

Can we please, as a nation, talk about more important issues facing us like ridding ourselves of a criminal and treacherous administration, or preparing for (not mitigating, because it's much, MUCH too late for that) energy depletion, or perhaps we could begin to take global warming seriously so that at least the strongest of us will survive to begin again, in another age and another epoch?

3. LOL! UFO's are very interesting and since the CIA and NASA are refusing
to declassify the files, it's politics! All the other countries are releasing their UFO files but the US! Maybe tomorrow we can get some traction. They are going to present new evidence. I'd like to hear Sibel Edmonds or wiretapping too, but tomorrow we are getting something else. It's all the same to me. Government secrecy!

BTW they don't have to be coming form another planet. They could be coming from here!

about unidentified stuff flying in our airspace. What if it's a Saddam built predator? They don't want to know!

That in itself is highly suspicious and significant. And that's what Bush threatened us with to start World War Iraq. Until there's a real investigation, our air security is a joke.

IOW, it's classified. The fact that they know what it is is probably itself classified information.

I imagine if Edmonds wanted to stage a press conference using that venue, she could, just like many other people/groups have done. http://npc.press.org/facilities/index.cfm

7. With regards to the first UTube video,
at first I thought the following news flash under the video was about an ET, and I thought, hey,if one wants to vacuum for me, it can eat all the food it can find and sleep in every one of my beds!

IDAHO WOMAN CLAIMS INTRUDER ATE FOOD, SLEPT IN BEDS, VACUUMED & LEFT

But I guess it was about a human intruder, not an ET. Shucks.

I don't discount the possibility that life - even intelligent life - exists somewhere other than Earth, but the belief that Earth has been visited by beings from other planets seems to me to be just wishful thinking. Unless the ETs' life expectancy is extremely long, considering the vast distance they'd have to travel to get here, they'd have to send robots in their place, wouldn't they? And by the time the robots arrived in their space craft, the ET civilization that sent them could be extinct.

8. And that is were non-locality and the "high weirdness" of the UFO phenomenon come into play
If we managed to rip a hole in space/time and travel to another star, we would seem like "interdimensional" beings to the natives, but would indeed be flesh and blood creatures, just with tech so advanced it seems paranormal.

Edited on Mon Nov-12-07 12:42 PM by kgfnally
Namely, a way to travel faster than light.

(I personally have held the opinion for a long time now that that's unlikely, but IF there's a way to travel FTL, then xyz craft probably accomplishes such at non-relativistic speeds, simply doing away with the speed of light as a consideration altogether. And no, I don't have any idea how that might be accomplished...)

would be great. Let's have it. And let it include anything having to do with UFO sightings. When all is revealed, there will still be no indication that any unidentified things seen in the sky are extraterrestrial in origin. Show me ET, or some solid, indisputable evidence that would prove ET's existence. Then I'll believe.

22. Here's another news article
Updated Sun. Nov. 11 2007 10:11 PM ET

CTV.ca News Staff

The Coalition for Freedom of Information is calling on the U.S. government to re-open investigations into Unidentified Flying Objects that it shut down 30 years ago.

James Fox, producer and director of the documentary film "Out of the Blue" joined forces with the Coalition to organize the panel.

"We want to demonstrate that the phenomenon is real and that it's happening world wide and we want the United States government to start an international exchange of information (and) dialogue on an official level, openly," he told CTV.ca

Using previously classified documents, the group intends to discuss many well-documented cases, including two already investigated by the American government.

The two cases include a Peruvian Air Force pilot who fired several rounds at a craft that was not affected and an Iranian pilot who claims his control panel became inoperable when he attempted to fire on a UFO.

Both pilots will speak publicly about the events on Monday at a panel discussion in Washington D.C., moderated by Arizona Governor Fife Symington.

The panel will include former government, aviation and military officials, with representatives from France, England, Belgium, Chile, Peru, Iran and the U.S. It will call for the U.S. government to re-open its UFO investigations.

The panelists have all either sighted UFOs or conducted an official investigation.

Symington himself claims that he had a sighting 10 years ago during his second term as governor. He said he witnessed a massive object navigate over Squaw Peak, a mountain range in Phoenix, Arizona.

A pilot and former Air Force officer, Symington said the craft didn't resemble any man-made object he'd ever seen.

"It was truly breathtaking," Symington told CNN on Friday. "I was absolutely stunned because I was turning to the west looking for the distant Phoenix Lights."

The governor said that the incident was witnessed by hundreds of concerned Arizona residents who called his office.

The U.S. Air Force eventually claimed responsibility, admitting that they'd dropped flares. However Symington said that what he saw was something else, as flares don't fly in formation.

There are many high-ranking officials who share Symington's concerns, and they want the U.S. government to stop telling the public that all UFOs can be explained in down-to-earth terms.

"I would now like to set the record straight," Symington said. "My office did make inquiries as to the origin of the craft, but to this day they remain unanswered."

Fox told CTV.ca that they have overwhelming evidence that, although they officially ended decades ago, the U.S. government has continued UFO investigations covertly.

"Several generals are here, and they said that it's difficult for any military force to disclose information that would suggest they don't have control, and expose their weaknesses," he said.

Fox, who is producing a follow-up to his UFO documentary, thinks the outing of such information "would definitely have a unifying effect on all of us, and it would give us the bigger picture of how we fit into the universe. We're not the only planet with life or the only intelligence in the universe, which in my opinion would be rather depressing."

Phoenix Lights Discussed in Nation's Capital
November 12th, 2007 @ 7:34am
by J.W. Cox/KTAR

Former Arizona Gov. Fife Symington joined other top officials in Washington, D.C., today to speak out about unidentified flying objects.

After sighting what he called a UFO in 1997, Symington held a news conference where his chief-of-staff was dressed as an alien. But, Symington will be all business today as he moderates a discussion at the National Press Club of UFO sightings.

Symington, himself, feels strongly that we may not be alone in the universe.

``The university is such a big place, I just think that you have to be open to that possibility," he said.

It was during his second term as governor that Symington saw a delta-shaped object split the sky over Squaw Peak.

The Phoenix Lights, sometimes referred to as ``the Lights over Phoenix," were seen March 13, 1997, when thousands of people reported seeing the phenomena. There were two distinct events -- a traingular formation of lights seen to pass over Arizona and a series of stationary lights seen in the Phoenix area.

The U.S. Air force said the lights were caused by flares dropped by a-10 Warthog aircraft in training exercises over the Barry Goldwater Air force Range.

Symington, many high-ranking military, aviation and government officials never bought in to that explanation.

Symington said he saw a large triangular ``craft of unknown origin" with lights. He said it could not have been flares because it was too symmetrical.

In an interview last March with The Daily Courier in Prescott, Symington responded to the military claims that the lights were caused by flares. ``I'm a pilot and I know just about every machine that flies. It was bigger than anything that I've ever seen. It remains a great mystery. Other people saw it, responsible people. I don't know why people would ridicule it."

Frances Barwood, a Phoenix city councilwoman, launched an investigation into the event and interviewed more than 700 witnesses. She said, ``The government never interviewed even one."

While Symington spoofed the incident at the 1997 news conference, he now wants to set the record straight.

He says Arizona was ``on the brink of hysteria" about the UFO sighting at the time and the frenzy was building.

``I wanted people to lighten up and calm down, so I introduced a little levity. But I never felt that the ovrall situation was a matter of ridicule," he said, adding that the incident remains unsolved and deserves an official investigation.

Among those joining Symington in today's panel discussion were several pilots, former Belgian Deputy Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Wilfried De Brouwer, retired Air France Capt. Jean-Claude Duboc and former United Kingdom Defense Minister Nick Pope.

29. I've said it before, I'll say it again
I think literally everything being seen in the skies is actually our own craft, and I also think that all that money we've been pouring into black budget projects all these years has paid off, or will soon.

And that makes more sense than little green men. Recall what was seen prior to public revelation of the B-2 stealth bomber, or the F-117A stealth fighter, etc...

How could so many people keep such a secret? It's quite possible that they've been given very good, sound reasons for not going public "until it's done", or some such. Maybe it's a matter of timing. The fact remains that an awful lot of people have seen an awful lot of very strange things in the skies, not all of which can be attributed to ignorance of weather phenomena.

There's something up there, and it's most likely ours. Whatever it is.

34. I'm curious about their propulsion projects, actually.
Edited on Mon Nov-12-07 12:31 PM by kgfnally
There's some evidence (Tajmar, Droscher, Hauser) that a full understanding of Burkhard Heim's particle structure theory may- MAY- lead to a new form of propellantless propulsion using a force similar to gravity. The theory has been kicking around for over fifty years; maybe our military R&D folks figured it out?

If true, there are a lot of good reasons to keep it secret. It doesn't involve oil at all, for one. The more- uh, spectacular- facets of the theory suggest a form of hyperdrive (as in, FTL), for another.

There's no evidence that that's one of the things being researched by our military, of course. If all this is the case, there won't be evidence until they're damn good and ready to spill the beans.

And Heim's theory is legit, at least in the respect that it gives rise to formulas that can accurately predict particle masses to within six decimal places, so there's at least something to it.

49. Is that an objection?
It's never gonna happen if they don't test it.

The money will flow instantly, though, from the likes of venture capitalists. Any way you look at it, there's nothing to be gained by burying a viable technology. I have yet to hear a reasonable scenario why a government or industry would suppress a source of free or cheap environmentally friendly kinetic energy.

there's your market. As to whether that was "planned"... well.... that's doubtful.

One question I have: have the sightings of zippity-zap here-then-there unidentified craft been on the increase?

50. I don't know the answer.
My guess is that it's been roughly steady since WWII, when space travel entered the consciousness of the masses. I don't believe there are such "magic" technologies, or alien spacecraft in the vicinity of earth, or we would have evidence.

Anybody in the government who is privy to such knowledge, would long ago have gone into business with it.

67. Heim's theory was written in the 1950s.
It's only being seriously investigated just now here in the West.

Or... IS it "recent" research? Heim's particle structure theory may well give rise to just such a "magical" technology; propulsion via a particle known as a "gravitophoton". I should also note that formulas in his theory can predict particle masses to within six decimal places, and that the "great void" recently found in the universe- a big hole of nothing a billion light-years across- may well prove to be confirmation of another part of Heim's theory- the notion that, at extreme distances, gravity actually becomes very weakly repulsive.

Richard Dawkins once said it, and I'll parrot it here:

"The Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, the Universe is queerer than we can suppose."

Well...it's easy to keep a secret that nobody wants to know.

It really isn't a secret it's just way too much for our brains to take in. Our brains like order...neat little catagories of true and false. Something like this blows our circuits.

Saudi Arabia would cease to be powerful, period.

Imagine propellantless propulsion, then imagine the LOSERS should we develop such.

The stakes for such people are astronomically high, and many of them would do anything- anything at all- to retain their wealth and power.

WHEN DISCLOSURE SERVES SECRECY

by Steven M. Greer M.D.

Copyright 1999

Ending the secrecy surrounding the UFO/ET subject is a laudable goal. It is long overdue. It would transform the world in ways both simple and profound.

And yet it is fraught with danger.

The covert projects which have been running UFO related programs for nearly 60 years are not interested in a disclosure which upsets their apple cart. They want such a disclosure to transform their apple cart into a freight train. And they potentially have the power and connections to do it.

There are multiple scenarios attending the disclosure of the UFO subject-and not all of them have the best interests of humanity at heart. Elsewhere, in the new book ‘Extraterrestrial Contact: The Evidence and Implications‘ I write about the kind of disclosure the world needs. An honest one. An open one. One which replaces secrecy with democracy. A disclosure which is peaceful, scientific and hopeful.

But then there is the disclosure the powers that be would like to see:
Manipulated. Calculated to consolidate power and engender fear. Configured in such a way that chaos and a deepening need for Big Brother is carefully inculcated into the masses.

We have seen the plans and it is not a pretty picture.

I write this as a warning. A warning that the wolves in sheep clothes are very cunning indeed. And have almost limitless resources. Most who work with them do not even know they are wolves. Indeed, it is likely that many of the wolves have been convinced that they are sheep.

The UFO matter is not so much a mystery as a matter deliberately obfuscated and mystified. Confusion and a lack of clarity serves the larger covert goal of keeping it off the long- range radar of society while power and plans are consolidated quietly. And the one thing more dangerous to society than all this secrecy is a planned, contrived disclosure run by the keepers of the secrets.

For years such plans have been made - to be unfurled at just the right time. During a time of great expectation. Of social confusion. Perhaps of millennial madness?

I have personally met with a number of people who are very involved with such plans. I do not speculate here. Be aware: The disclosure of UFO reality is being planned very carefully. It will assiduously follow a scheme to spin the subject in just the right way - the only way which will further redound to the glory and power of the secret-keepers. It will be a false disclosure - one born out of the age-old bane of human existence: selfishness and greed. Greed for power. Greed for control. Greed for domination.

We must be mature and informed on such matters. Only a vigilant and informed public can see through such deceit - and correct it should such a plan be unfurled. Every citizen needs to know that great good can come from the truth being known. But the mature citizen must also recognize that the ‘truth’ can be spun and spun again - until the goals of those who crave secret and overt power are met.

Consider: One scenario for disclosure is that the UFO and Extraterrestrial subject is acknowledged in a way which is scientific and hopeful. Excessive secrecy which lacks executive branch and congressional oversight is ended. Humanity begins to entertain open contact with other civilizations, with peaceful engagement as the goal.

Technologies which are currently suppressed are allowed to be disseminated: Pollution ends. An economy of abundance and social justice is firmly established. Global environmental destruction and mind-numbing world poverty become a faint memory. Zero-point based energy devices transform the world. Electro-gravitic devices permit above ground travel without paving over the world’s precious fertile farm land. As an ET once told Colonel Philip Corso, ” Its a new world, if you can take it…”. This is the disclosure which we are working for.

But the disclosure envisioned above could have happened in 1950. It did not - Why? For such a disclosure would lead to the total transformation of the status quo.

Centralized energy systems would be obsolete. Oil would be useful only for lubricants and synthetics. The geo-political order of today would be a thing forgotten: Every country and people on Earth would have such a high degree of progress and advancement that all nations would have a seat at the global table.

Power would need to be shared. Peaceful acknowledgment of life from elsewhere would make the Earth seem like the very small, organic homeland which it is. The vast trillion dollar global military - industrial sector would be reigned in. And a universal spirituality might dawn…

But remember, there are hugely powerful interests who dread this scenario. For them, it is the end of the world as they know it. The end of centralized, elite power. The end of a controlled geo-political order which today leaves nearly 90% of the people of Earth barely one step out of the stone age. And they do not wish to share the power they wield.

Now, let me describe the ‘disclosure’ which would make these covert control programs happy. This is the false or contrived ‘disclosure’ which has only one clear goal: The further consolidation of their power and their paradigm. It has to do with fear, not love. With war, not peace. With division and conflict, not unity. It is the dominant paradigm - but it is slipping away slowly. And a carefully orchestrated disclosure of the ‘facts’ of the UFO and ET subject could secure their power. This is the disclosure which is to be dreaded. This is the disclosure to watch out for. This is the disclosure which is already occurring.

My meetings over the past 9 years with covert operatives who have worked on UFO related programs have introduced me to some characters right out of a spy novel - and then some. Whether in private high tech industry, at the Pentagon or at a midnight meeting in a private mansion, a theme has emerged.

It is one of immense, though currently hidden, power. It transcends government as we know it (at this point the government of ‘We the people…’ has been made irrelevant on this issue). And the theme has two main strands - the eventual covert militarization of the ET subject and a weird covert religious strain which can only be viewed as bizarre.

Here, we find some very strange bed-fellows indeed. War mongers and militarists in cahoots with industrialists who share a certain bizarre eschatological bent: A dark view of the future, featuring an extraterrestrial Armageddon - or at least the threat of it. Such a theme supports retrograde and fanatical religious causes as well as deeply covert military-industrial plans to expand the arms race into space.

In fact, the big Continued>>>>>>>>

53. That's stupid or paranoid or both.
The people who own the oil companies, whose products "would be useful only for lubricants and synthetics..." and fertilizers and pharmaceuticals and paints, etc., are not storekeepers who will be put out of business by a new competitor. They are multi-national capitalists, whose resources include the companies who would benefit from introducing new technologies. There is nothing to be gained by keeping these secrets.

Why keep civilization in a feudal slavery? Once these technologies (if they exist) are exposed, they can be reverse engineered. Certainly, no scenario would account for the very few riding around in their "sky gliders" while the rest of humanity starves.

The Truth is in Here: DC UFO Press Conference

We are in the Friedheim Library of the National Press Club, having just left the UFO press conference at which former Arizona Governor Fife Symington, retired astrophysicist Claude Poher, and various air force commanders, pilots, and FAA administrators from the U.S., the U.K., Peru and France discussed incidents during which they witnessed or responded to reports about unidentified flying objects.

http://ufomedia.blogspot.com/

There are journalists here from CNN, the local FOX News affiliate, France, Spain, Televisa of Mexico, the Washington Afro-American, and other newspapers and radio outlets. We will blog further on the event later.

The UFO Disclosure press conference at the presitgious National Press Club was organized and run very well. Only accredited journalists were present, and each official or witness spoke to their personal experience concerning a craft whose origin could not be explained by anomalous weather, local military activity, flares, or commercial flight. Incidents ranged from a 1986 sighting over Anchorage by Japan Air Lines pilots and crew who saw a object with flashing lights that was six times the size of their 747, to a large disc seen by commercial pilots last spring at Chicago O’Hare that suddenly lifted up into the air above the airport. Former Governor Fife Symington of Arizona spoke last. A former military pilot himself, the governor recalled the Phoenix Lights incident, in which he saw a delta-shaped craft of large size silently moving towards the mountains. Symington says that no Air Force or military explanations surfaced, and that a couple of half-hearted theories didn’t satisfy him. He said they couldn’t have been flares, as flares don’t move in formation. As for a base shrugging it off as some A-10’s, the governor noted that A-10’s are quite noisy, while the V-shaped object seen by hundreds of thousands from Maricopa County to southern Arizona was silent.

Symington recounted his press conference the day after the Lights were seen, explaining that the nature of the phone calls and citizen anxiety directed at his office was such that, to relieve the tension, he asked his chief of staff to dress up like an alien at the briefing. The aide refused. The governor insisted, and the chief said he would resing before doing such a thing. Symington told him his resignation would then be refused, and the staffer complied, but has never forgiven him. The mood lightener, the governor said, offended many of his constituents.

During the Q & A session, several journalists asked a version of the question, why is there a UFO coverup, or what do the militaries or aviation associations of various governments around the world, represented in the room and otherwise, fear concerning the public being told there have been unexplained vehicles flying over the airspace of many countries? Whether from France, England, or Peru, the response was the same- few high ranking government officials are willing to publicly admit there are civilizations, and thus craft, over whom we are powerless. The former investigative chief of the FAA, Mr. Callahan, shared how he was told by the CIA and FAA to act as if the Anchorage incident never occurred. If asked about it, officials were told to say, “It’s under investigation.” A French airline official added that pilots are supposed to be serious, and discussion of unexplained phenomena professionally compromises people.

There were about 70 journalists and attendees at the press event, so the Ballroom was full, including maybe eight television or film-style cameras on tripods. Each panelist was available for individual questioning or taping after the Q & A. Governor Symington proved very approachable and forthcoming in this regard, as did everyone. In an elevator afterwards, documentary filmmaker (”Out of the Blue”) and UFO investigator James Fox, his co-organizer and investigative journalist Leslie Kean, Symington and a couple journalists rode together. One reporter opined that among media, the subject of ships of unearthly origin was off limits. “That’s changing.” insisted Fox.

Learn to Trade with a FREE Guide.WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic U.S. presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich may have been ridiculed for saying he had seen a UFO, but for some former military pilots and other observers, unidentified flying objects are no laughing matter.

An international panel of two dozen former pilots and government officials called on the U.S. government on Monday to reopen its generation-old UFO investigation as a matter of safety and security given continuing reports about flying discs, glowing spheres and other strange sightings.

"Especially after the attacks of 9/11, it is no longer satisfactory to ignore radar returns ... which cannot be associated with performances of existing aircraft and helicopters," they said in a statement released at a news conference.

The panelists from seven countries, including former senior military officers, said they had each seen a UFO or conducted an official investigation into UFO phenomena.

The subject of UFOs grabbed the spotlight in the U.S. presidential race last month when Kucinich, a member of Congress from Ohio, said during a televised debate with other Democratic candidates that he had seen one.

Former presidents Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter are both reported to have claimed UFO sightings.

Most turn out to be misidentified aircraft, satellites or meteors. A panelist who once worked for Britain's Ministry of Defense said 5 percent of incidents cannot be explained.

But the sightings are often dismissed by authorities without proper investigations, UFO activists say.

"It's a question of who you going to believe: your lying eyes or the government?" remarked John Callahan, a former Federal Aviation Administration investigator, who said the CIA in 1987 tried to hush up the sighting of a huge lighted ball four times the size of a jumbo jet in Alaska. Continued...

63. Ronald Reagan saw TWO UFOs. Why isn't the media talking about that?
http://action.dennis4president.com/blog/view/id_2595/

I have been posting this here and there where Kucinich and the UFO sighting is being discussed. ....

http://www.presidentialufo.com

Ron and Nancy were expected at a casual dinner party with friends in Hollywood. Except for the Reagans, all the guests had arrived. Ron and Nancy showed up a half hour later quite upset. They stated that they had seen a UFO coming down the coast.

Lucille Ball in her book "Lucy in the Afternoon" also described the event. In her account of the event she stated, “After he elected President, I kept thinking about that event, and wondered if he still would have won if he told everyone that he saw a flying saucer.”

The second sighting occurred in 1974 while Reagan was still Governor. One week after the sighting, Reagan related the story to Norman C. Millar, then Washington Bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal, later the editor of the Los Angeles Times. Reagan told Millar:

"I was in a plane last week when I looked out the window and saw this white light. It was zigzagging around. I went up to the pilot and said, ‘Have you seen anything like that before?’ He was shocked and said, ‘Nope.’ And I said to him: ‘Let’s follow it!’

We followed it for several minutes. It was a bright white light. We followed it to Bakersfield, and all of a sudden to our utter amazement it went straight up into the heavens. When we got off the plane, I told Nancy all about it.’

64. Raygun's ufo sightings from Kitty Kelly's book!!!!!!!
http://www.presidentialufo.com/reagan_ufo_story.htm

Reagan may have gained this intense interest from sightings he had while he was Governor of California. Kitty Kelly in her Unauthorized Biography of Nancy Reagan stated Reagan admitted to believing in flying saucers, and "even swore that he had seen a few unidentified flying objects."

Two of these Reagan UFO encounters have become public. The first sighting story was made public by Steve Allen on his WNEW-AM radio show in New York. Allen stated that a well know personality in the entertainment industry had confided a UFO story to him many years before. As the story had already made the rounds in the rumor mill, there was no question the comedian and host was referring to Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy.

The pilot of Governor Reagan plane was Bill Paynter, and he backed up Reagan’s version of the incident with the UFO.

I was the pilot of the plane when we saw the UFO. Also, on board were Governor Reagan and a couple of his security people. We were flying a Cessna Citation. It was maybe nine or ten o’clock at night. We were near Bakersfield when Governor Reagan and the others called my attention to a big light flying a bit behind the plane.

It appeared to be several hundred yards away. It was a fairly steady light until it began to accelerate, then it appeared to elongate. The light took off. It went up at a 45-degree angle - at a high rate of speed. Everyone on the plane was surprised.

Governor Reagan expressed amazement. I told the others I didn’t know what it was. The UFO went from a normal cruise speed to a fantastic speed instantly. If you give an airplane power it will accelerate - but not like a hotrod, and that is what this was like.

We didn’t file a report on the object because for a long time they considered you a nut if you saw a UFO.

Paynter added the UFO incident didn’t stop there. He stated that he and Reagan had discussed their UFO sighting "from time to time" in the years following the incident.

Reagan, in his discussion of the sighting with Norman C. Miller added that he had told Nancy about the UFO he had seen, and they had done personal research on UFOs. This research had uncovered the facts that there were references to UFOs in Egyptian hieroglyphics. Reagan was telling his story in a very animated way. This led Miller to conclude that Reagan seriously believed in UFOs. He asked him, "Governor, are you telling me that you saw a UFO?"

Suddenly, according to Miller, Reagan realized that he was talking to a reporter. "This look crossed his face," recalled Miller, "and he said let’s just say that I’m an agnostic."

Once in the White House it didn’t take Reagan a long time to bring up the UFO subject. Jane Mayer and Doyle McManus described in their book "Landslide" that the Reagan handlers went to great lengths to "conceal" the President’s assertion that he had seen a flying saucer or his belief that there was a ghost in the Lincoln bedroom. There was also an effort to discourage Reagan from talking about two other topics he liked - Armageddon and astrology.

Reagan handlers went to great efforts to protect President Reagan from possibly embarrassing questions by starting up presidential helicopter just before Reagan exited the White House to leave for trips. Nancy Reagan was also part of the protection force surrounding the President. She was often close enough to the President to whisper answers to difficult questions, or to provide corrections to things he had said which were wrong or embarrassing.

The efforts to maintain silence on the subjects of UFOs, ghosts, astrology, and Armageddon by White House staffers, however, were not always successful. Reagan was a big fan of the occult, so from time to time these items would appear in Reagan speeches. In a February 11, 1988 speech called, Remarks at the Annual Conservative Political Action Conference Dinner Reagan was able to get both ghosts and UFOs in the same speech. In the speech written for Reagan by Pulitzer Prize winning speech writer Tony Dolan Reagan said:

...By the way, something odd happened just before I got here tonight that I think you should know about. I got a message from Dave Keane reminding me that this was the eve of Lincoln's birthday-and suggesting I go upstairs and check on the ghost in Lincoln's bedroom. I did. And what do you know, there was Stan Evans dressed as Abe Lincoln. And he kept saying, "Listen to Jesse Helms.". . . Well, we conservatives have been in Washington now for a while and we occasionally need to remind ourselves what brought us here in the first place: our unshakable, root-deep, all-encompassing skepticism about the capital city's answer to the UFO, that bizarre, ever-tottering but ever-flickering saucer in the sky called "The Prevailing Washington Wisdom.

66. Wired News is asking people to send in their UFO photos...
http://blog.wired.com/underwire/2007/11/close-encounter.html

Seen something strange in the sky? Have an overwhelming urge to build a model of a giant natural landmark out of mashed potatoes? If so, perhaps you might be on your way to a close encounter -- or maybe you've already experienced one. (Ooh, spooky.)

Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the 1977 movie that so vividly splashed the concept of extraterrestrial contact onto the silver screen, returns to Earth on Tuesday in an elaborate DVD box set. Close Encounters of the Third Kind: 30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition packs three kinds of encounters with director Steven Spielberg's classic sci-fi flick: the original theatrical release, 1980's special edition and the director's cut (originally released in 1998 as the "collector's edition"). The gorgeous film, which landed Vilmos Zsigmond the 1977 Academy Award for best cinematography, comes in Blu-ray and standard-def DVD versions.

In honor of the anniversary release, Wired News wants to see your UFO pictures. (Remember: As Oval Office wannabe Dennis Kucinich pointed out, the "U" in "UFO" just means "unidentified.") If you've got an alien who posed for a close-up, or an elaborate candied-yam sculpture of Devils Tower National Monument, we'd love to see those, too.
