Whaaaa???? "Fox is biased to the hard right, but CNN is even worse, biased to the hard left."
I spent the last two days on the road with a guy who is a Republican. He is also chronically, laughably, woefully, unforgivably uniformed. And he's 54 and has a nice degree from an academically high university, runs his own business, and does very well for himself.

In short, he's not stupid. But he sure seems ignorant.

I'm a notorious chain yanker and his is a chain I love to yank. This time it was about the media and how it is my view they're the reason there are people who are chronically, laughably, woefully, unforgivably uniformed.

I asked my friend if he thought Fox was biased. The thread title, above, is pretty much his reply.

How does this shit get spread????? We all know CNN is a pathetic MiniMe of Faux.

1. People who are comfortable with their beliefs...
and I do mean "beliefs" and not ideas... are desperate to cling to them. That's how idiocy like that takes root.

Those who enjoy critical thinking aren't so easy to dupe.

3. Rush, Sean, and All The Rest
No doubt your companion on the road is a regular listener to Rush, Sean, Mark, and all the other knuckle-dragging hate mongers.

They say this shit, and guys like your companion on the road just eat it up and spew it out.

4. All Fox watchers think everything but Fox is totally radically extreme.
Remember...Fox's audience is as you say..."chronically, laughably, woefully, unforgivably uniformed." How could the be anything else? They watch Fox news. Anything to the left of Hannity and O'Reilly seems radical to them.

12. You got it
McCain is a leftist to some of these folks.

I think Kos had a statistic after the presidential election that said that the most reliable demographic in 2004 was regular Fox News viewers voting Republican - even in greater percentages than evangelicals and gun owners, and higher than African-
Americans voting Democratic.

6. I find that there are quite a few well educated people out there who are..
woefully ignorant. I recently had somebody like that tell me that global warming is "just a theory"...:wtf:

7. Wheras Faux actively lies and is completely biased...
CNN, for the most part, seems to simply ignore stories that do not benefit the Junta and their corporate masters of stick with fluff.

News, in general, has become more about infotainment than anything resembling facts.

8. If that's bias to the left, we don't need any of it
That debate was pretty much a farce.

10. I don't know, he sounds stupid to me
a lot of stupid people have degrees. It's the willful refusal to learn (or to observe and apply one's knowledge) that makes one stupid.

Thus, they end up stuck with irrational beliefs.
