Scott Pelley (60 Minutes): propaganda master
Edited on Sun Dec-02-07 07:27 PM by Neecy
Okay, so the story on Iraqi Christians tonight *was* good and I give credit to 60 Minutes for covering the story.

However, the 'reporter' they gave this story to, Scott Pelley, certainly had to editorialize throughout.

Early on in the segment, the Vicar of Baghdad explained how much better things were for Christians under Saddam, and 60 Minutes itself noted that Saddam had Christians in his cabinet and treated everyone the same regardless of religious affiliation. Pelley decided to visit a (formerly) Christian neighborhood. They drove through a sword-like thingie over a roadway and Pelley smugly remarked that they had to cross a symbol of Saddam's "tyranny"...excuse me? 1 million Christians in Iraq before the war, now almost none with many dead and most refugees. Who's the tyrant?

He also noted how quiet this (formerly) Christian neighborhood was and gave credit to the surge - although he did mention that many were dead or refugees - which is probably 99% the reason why this neighborhood is so quiet. No one is left. It's not the frikkin' surge.

You'd think he would be moved over the suffering the US has created there - but no, he kept pumping out the propaganda. He just repulses me.

But it's clear that Christians are in MUCH worse shape than they were earlier - the guy they interviewed has mentioned that this is the WORST state Christians have been in their history and many have simply been forced out.

I hope all these RW evangelical ass holes realize what a mess this war has caused for Iraqi Christian communities.

3. Pelley has to be a Chimpco plant
He twists every story to the Bush Crime Family viewpoint.

4. It is worse now for Christians. It is worse for women. It is worse for children.
It is much worse for men, of course. Most of the animals in the zoos died. And probably the pets as well, since everyone had to flee.

let's see, it's better for...the bastards stealing billions of dollars from contracts with the Pentagon.

That would be about it.
