President Bush is chastising Congress for not acting fast enough to fund the war. Consider this: The Pentagon budget is almost $500 Billion a year, more than the rest of the world combined spends on defense. In 2002 Donald Rumsfeld admitted the Pentagon couldn't account for $2.3 Trillion. A year later a GAO report found the Pentagon loses almost $100 Billion every year, 20% of it’s budget, and they misplaced 56 airplanes, 32 tanks, and 36 Javelin missile command launch-units. This year the Pentagon admitted losing $9 Billion in funds to train and equip the Iraqis including 190,000 guns, 135,000 units of body armor and 115,000 helmets. With more money than is spent by all other militaries on Earth our Pentagon can't provide enough body armor, up-armored vehicles or even food and potable water for the troops. The Veteran’s Administration budget is $87 Billion, 23% less than the Pentagon loses every year, and there isn't enough money to treat wounded soldiers after they come home. All this and we can't win a war in a country that doesn't have an army. What’s the rush? Let the Pentagon find a few of the $ Trillions it’s lost.
