Has Morgan Spurlock Found Osama Bin Laden?
If Michael Moore is America’s number one documentary filmmaker, then after releasing Super Size Me Morgan Spurlock definitely became number 2. Except while Moore makes more point of view movies, Spurlock’s work is a lot closer to being what we think of when throwing around the word “documentary”.

His next project is by far, his riskiest yet. Spurlock has finished his new movie Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?, in which he sets out to do what the United States government has apparently failed to do: Find Osama Bin Laden. The Weinstein Company bought the thing after seeing only 15 minutes of it at the Berlin Film Festival, and here’s where it gets really interesting. Rumor has it that Spurlock actually found Osama Bin Laden.

The film’s director of photography told SlashFilm that Morgan “definitely got the holy grail.” Since the movie is about him hunting Osama, that would make him the holy grail… wouldn’t it? For now though, everyone around the production is keeping things locked down.

The film is supposed to debut in Park City at Sundance this year, and since tomorrow is the deadline for them to notify people who have received press credentials and I still haven’t heard anything, I guess I won’t be able to report back on it. I’m sure someone more important than us will. Whenever we all finally get around to seeing it, I can’t even begin to imagine the media madness this film will unleash if Morgan Spurlock actually found and hung out with Osama Bin Laden. It instantly raises a lot of important questions like... if mustachioed Morgan Spurlock can find him, don’t you have to assume the US government isn’t even trying?

45. I agree that they are really really bad for you-however,
remember that McDonald's doesn't even make it to the 20 worst foods list:

There's some real gems in there, though I don't think I've ever had any of them. Makes you wonder about all the outside foods you get that don't publish their nutrition info.

another iceberg in the path of the * Titantic....

(this is not meant to be derogatory to our military men and women...I think their hands are tied....like the 38th parralel in Vietnam)

If the entire military, the spy agencies CIA, FBI and all other agencies can't or won't find Bin Laden and this guy does....this will prove to the world that the * administration has intentionally prolonged both wars and has occupied Iraq and Afghanastan illegally......

If this guy found OBL there is no reason left for the Democratic party to give for not impeaching the bastards....

15. Let me be the first to call bullshit.
"The film’s director of photography told SlashFilm that Morgan “definitely got the holy grail.” Since the movie is about him hunting Osama, that would make him the holy grail… wouldn’t it? For now though, everyone around the production is keeping things locked down."

The only connection that the "Holy Grail" Spurlock got is actually Bin Laden is supposed by the author of the article. There is nothing of substance in this article that says Spurlock found/saw/met/interviewed/did crack/made out with Osama Bin Laden. Only the guess of a reporter paid to promote movies. Are you going to see this movie now?

At any rate, any meeting with Bin Laden will require one party digging six feet.

23. Which leads to the next question. What's the deal with this movie?
If he's dead, why is Morgan Spurlock being paid to find him? Just to keep Osama on the tips of our tongues over summer?

This doesn't pass the stink test, by a long, long way.

36. Uh, are you familiar with who Morgan is?
He is one of the good guys. He's not being "paid" by anyone to keep us spooked about Bin Laden. If anything, I suspect that the point of this documentary is to expose the Bush administration's attempt to hunt down Osama as the sham it is -- a kind of, "If I can find the guy, why the hell can't you?"

I am looking forward to this film.

47. That's a fair enough interpretation on the amount of information we have.
That said; I believe Osama is dead. There is plenty of evidence to support that. If this movie presents *anything* that implies or postulates that Osama is alive then it is nothing but mis/disinformation.

That said; if Spurlock's holy grail is indeed Osama's grave, as theorised above/below, then I'll be happily suprised and more than happy to acknowledge I was wrong. I hope I am. I don't think I will be, but I hope I am.

48. "any meeting with Bin Laden will require one party digging six feet"? Maybe not
Bin Laden is more propagandist than terrorist. There's a difference between wanting to kill Americans and wanting to kill ALL Americans. I can definitely see him seeing an American filmmaker as a potential propaganda tool. Not that it'd work--few non-American propagandists have ever understood our country or played us smartly or for very long. In the last century I can think of only Karl Rove and Ho Chi Minh. Everyone else ends up looking like a jackass within a few years.

37. So, let me see if I understand this correctly....

Bush knows where Bin Laden is, but won't disclose it or do anything about it in order to advance his political agenda.

Spurlock knows where Bin Laden is, but won't disclose it or do anything about it in order to make headlines at a film festival so that he can advance his personal agenda.

Wow.

I wish I knew where Bin Laden was. Seems like a heck of a way to succeed at all sorts of things.

Osama, if alive, could easily have arranged to meet him in ways such that Spurlock would not know where he is. Blindfolding him and driving him to a remote location, for example.
