2. Why is the sale rate of hybrids in 2007 so volatile?
Is it the housing crunch drying up equity?

3. Gas Prices & Available supply of hybrid models in certain markets
Great stats for Toyota:

Toyota posted a strong month, with Prius sales hitting 16,737 units, up 109% from the year before. Camry Hybrid turned in 5,118 units, up 65% from the year before and representing 14.5% of all Camry models sold. Sales of the Highlander Hybrid were back up after a slump for several months to 2,577 units—an increase of 55% from November 2006 and representing 20.9% of all Highlander models sold.

4. I bought my Prius in April. That was the last month I saw a Prius on the dealer's lot.
I bought my Prius during that dip in the chart. I actually had seven Priuses (what is the plural of Prius?) to choose from, so I got exactly what I wanted. I often ride by the Toyota dealership, and I have not seen a single Prius on the lot since the week I bought mine.

Having said that, I will add that I see more Priuses on the road here in Greenville, SC, than I have seen anywhere. Period. In September I drove my Prius to Dallas, Tx, where I saw a grand total of one Prius. I saw zero Priuses on the road between SC and Dallas. I go to Atlanta fairly often, but I see very few Priuses in Atlanta.

5. I never go more than a few miles here in Milwaukee
without seeing at least two or three.

It's not infrequent for the Prius count to exceed a dozen in an hourlong trip. We even categorize them by color.

Our mileage is down from 53 in September to about 43 now with the cold (<25 degrees or so).
