Obama: Fired Up and Ready to Go

I just returned from the Obama Rally in Columbia, SC, where I think I listened to Our next President. Obama was confident, comfortable and energized as he inspired the 30,000ish in attendance.

Obama wasn't my first choice or second choice before today. I must admit I was thoroughly impressed with his performance this afternoon. He seemed....Presidential.

He has smoothed any wrinkles in his campaign speech, telling the Populist story. The speech wasn't deep policy specifics or attacks on competitors. He talked to the average person, told them that he understands America is ready for a change. He rallied around Universal Healthcare, lowering costs of Education, elimination of poverty, and criminal Justice reform. He said he would have the troops out of Iraq in 16 months.

But, most importantly, he spoke with clarity and authenticity. He connected his story and his vision to the continuation of the civil rights movement and correcting bad polices that have suppressed so many. His message is for everyone: left, right, center, black, white, young and old. Obama has strengthened his speech, honed his message and is proving be an unstoppable force. I have no doubt that he would far outshine and destroy any candidate from the other side.

5. That is the one thing that has really bothered me and kept me away.
His campaigning with the homophobic ex-gay. I have a real problem with that. It is unfortunate, but I have a problems with each candidate.

I know he says he supports civil unions, and he gives the impression that he is willing the grow, correct and progress. If he was to become President, I think he could be pressured to do the right thing, and when the country isn't as divided and bigoted, he could change.

He is still years ahead of any of the pukes.

6. Thanks...
How exciting for you that you were actually there!

I watched the whole thing live on line and it was obvious from faces in the crowd that the people were loving every minute of it.

This uppity boomer is grateful for your first-hand report.... ;)

Keepin' it fired up and ready to go!

GObama!
