I know who the enemy is. Bushco is the enemy, as are the Republican enablers in Congress, and the tiny-minded little rat-bastards who think that torturing an Arab, any Arab, is a way to get at the truth--whatever the fuck it is. Those nerve-less fools who fear and despise anyone different from themselves and hunger for the right to visit violence upon them.
It's the die-hard partisan politicos, who will stand by their party, right or wrong, rather than address the issues of truth, liberty, and justice.
It's the corporate whores, who take money from the most affluent among us to betray us all by poisoning the water, the air, the things we buy, and the very landscape of information on which democracy thrives.
It's those we elect to represent us who show us contempt because we are more strident in our opposition than they think we should be. Those who take our money and our votes and marginalize us because "we don't understand how it works."
It's the perpetual compromisers, who haven't ever seen a line they weren't willing to cross, as long as it got them what they wanted...as long as it increased their power, their infuence, or their wealth.
It's every single person who forgets what the dream of America was--a country that did not need a king, that held that all were equal in the eyes of the law. Every person who thinks that dissent equals disloyalty and dishonor, and that truth can ever be a betrayal.
It's every yammering fool that floods our airwaves with fear, hatred, discord, and sheer stupidity. Every so called "author" who thinks rehashing the same old insults and contempt for those who don't think precisely the way they do means they're not worthy of the title "American."
It's the religious leaders who, in the grand tradition of religion throughout the history of the West, support and condone behavior their own religion decries for the advancement of their own political and social agendas.
Make no mistake. Know the enemy by what they do, not who they are.
