On what basis do More in US see progress in Iraq
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071211/ap_on_re_us/us_iraq_ap_poll

Very little is communicated in the media about what goes on, so is it that wonderful gut feeling the American public had after the invasion of Iraq that we were winning? Or maybe it is the wonderful media who has been feeding the bullshit which not only helped propel us into an illegal war, but censor what comes out of that region

In the early years of Viet Nam, things weren't too much different, except they had a draft, and when those who didn't volunteer started coming back in body bags, people started to have second thoughts.

We have learned nothing from Viet Nam, and we will pay for the consequences of our ignorance

I am convienced that we Americans are some of the most ignorant people in the world.

I would like to remind all those who participated in that poll, that we INVADED a country based on a lie. There were no weapons of mass destruction, and Iraq poised no immenient threat on us.

I suggest very strongly that those who truely believe that this war is just, and that progress is being made, to enlist as soon as possible, so even "more" progress can be made

and in years down the road, when it is realized that Iraq does not want us in their country, and when the Shia majority in Iraq align themselves with Iran because of our actions, I would like to hear their explanation what those people died for?

1. Shared delusion? The unstable and irrational need to believe your government
isn't corrupt ...in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary??

2. Excellent point. They don't want to be thought of as the bad guys
I suspect the Germans had a similar feeling as their government started to invade their surrounding neighbors, which was a prelude to WWII
