Updating my Walmart Manger (with Four Wise Men!) to Include Creationism ala The Creationism Museum
As many of you might know, last year I bought a manger scene, a cheap one, from Walmart.. to my surprise when I got home upon opening it, I found that the Buddist (or otherwise) nation of CHINA who produced it, had included an extra Wise Man, glued him right in there with the other THREE :)

Now some folks might claim this is even More Pollution being foisted on our country by those China Imports, poisoning our wonderful Christian Religion by introducing that Fourth Wiseman, while others might say, "Hey Symbolman, so they threw in an Extra Wise Man, why complain?"

I would tell them that my Catholic youth sent me howling with glee, but then I discovered Creationism, our own Brand of HOMEGROWN Religious Poisoning.. Don't miss THIS great Tour of the Creationism Museum in Kentucky, where you will witness the strangest shit you've ever seen, outside of crazy Mormon Underwear..

http://web.mit.edu/gjordan/www/creation/slides/_DSC2357.html

Like THIS Slide, where Adam and Eve share their little Garden of Eden with A RAPTOR, and that's not all, EVERY DINOSAUR EXISTED WITH HUMAN BEINGS, and they were ALL Vegetarians!! I shit you not:

Of course there's a REASON for the DINOSAURS EXISTING at the same time as Bible People, as this Hall clearly shows (Though you really should take the Slide Tour linked above.. just DO IT, you won't be Sorry!)

Lastly, if you've been paying attention, and Creationism is FOR YOU, then you'll do like I did, and in the interest of representing ALL of America in my CHINESE, probably prison manufactured Manger Scene - I've added one more Member to the Sheep, Cow and ASS.. Voila!

Now if only I could score a Betty Rubble doll (she was the HOT ONE) somewhere.. :)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all here, if I don't reach you individually.. and don't forget this time of year to contribute to the DU, to keep our voices HEARD all year, right here - I've been too broke to do it for awhile, so I can at least ask others who CAN to please help keep this place alive (so we can combat the True Terror of Chinese Imports and Creationism) :)

No One mentions STEVE, but he's right there in the Bible - the Gospel of STEVE.. unless they yanked that one out by now.. goddamn you KING JAMES! Damn you to HELL for messing with the Sacred WORD!

13. and if God brought all the animals of the world to Adam to name, and we have transcripts
of Adam's conversations with God, then why did we forget the names of the dinosaurs?

18. I'm sure the Creationist
"Scholars" are hard at work on bringing those names to the Public, the backlog being that Reputable Scientists had to be born first that they could LEECH off of that had the ability to name all of them... Well, That, and the niggling fact that LATIN needed to be invented first, even though it still sounds a might TOO Uppity :)

14. Well this is where their story falls apart.
The children of Adam and Eve take wives from the Land of Nod, east of the garden of Eden. So if there are other people in other lands then they are not the first humans. I am not sure how the creationists reconcile this.

6. Please Stay in School
I tell that to my kids, one more reason right here. It doesn't get any more blatant than this, eh? I mean, You want to Home School your kid with bullshit like this, feel free, but DON'T TELL ME that MY KID needs to see this at a PUBLIC SCHOOL!

Then again, they teach their kids that Joseph Smith had "magic glasses" that let him talk to the Angel MORONi :)

Oh yeah, BETTY!

Sorry about your head, mine is still hurting, took the whole tour too, funny stuff there though if there was a RELIGIOUS RATING, as in, DON'T BELIEVE THIS CRAP - RC-RATED.. I would definately RC RATE IT to keep kids away from garbage..

Stay in SCHOOL, kids, this is just one more reason..

7. Interesting that lack of an absolutely complete fossil record is proof that evolution is not true.
But, the inability to find human bones ajacent to dinosaur bones in the fossil record doesn't mean anything.

8. I saw somewhere once
a "fossil record" of dino tracks with Human ones beside it, and I imagine they trot that one out now and then, esp for this museum, surprised it's not IN this place..

Can't remember where I saw it, probably a Nemoy show back in the 80's..

9. Was it Paluxy River near Glen Rose Texas?
Edited on Tue Dec-11-07 10:40 AM by Jim__
That was pretty famous, but it has been debunked.

Here's a (fundie) list of some sites that supposedly have human and dinosaur tracks together.

10. Yep
I think that's the one.. they've all been debunked, it's just not possible, except on the Flintstones.. fun to look at though..

Thanks for the link, fundie's are nearly a limitless source of entertainment, if you have the time to waste on them :)

15. The bible doesn't specify the number of 'wise men'
(specifically, the story said they were Zoroastrian priests, but 'Magi' might have generally been used for 'wise men' from that area, so that could be given a pass). It does say they gave free presents, but who knows if that was 1 each? Maybe they had a whip-round at the temple, and 20 of them pitched in for the "gold 'n' frankincense 'n' myrrh" gift basket?
