KBR/Halliburton: Ex-employee case was “sexual harassment” not a “brutal rape.”

A KBR document obtained by 11 News opens up some of those doors, but also raises some questions.

In it, KBR tells its side of the story. They deny Jones’ claim and refer to it as “sexual harassment” and not a “brutal rape.” KBR also says the company took prompt action in response to Jones’ outcry and was quick to offer her all manner of support. They say Jones was administered a sexual assault examination after the incident.

“What we hear is the rape kit is nowhere to be found, so the physical evidence has disappeared,” Poe said.

<snip>

Jamie Leigh Jones filed the complaint in federal court alleging she was gang raped by several co-workers in Iraq, then claims it wasn't until a congressman got involved that she was able to come back home. Jamie Leigh Jones was a young military wife, just 19 when she began working at KBR as an administrative assistant in Houston. About a year later, she was transferred to Camp Hope Iraq.

It was there Jones alleges in a complaint filed in US District Court that she was sexually harassed.

Then on July 28, 2005 "Jamie was drugged and brutally raped by several Halliburton/KBR firefighters. She found her body naked and severely bruised, with lacerations blood running down her leg."

"I mean, if guys get away with this, they're going to continue to do this," Jones said. "If they were sick enough to do what they did to my body, they're going to do it to other people. So, I can't drop it. I mean, I don't know how I could sleep at night if saw the same thing happening to another woman and I did nothing."

"They say Jones was administered a sexual assault examination after the incident"

A sexual assault examination for what they claim was “sexual harassment” ?

4. Don't you watch "Law & Order: SVU"?
They always do a rape kit after a man calls a woman "honey" or "sweetie." :eyes:

or fantasy, is that I go Rambo on all their asses. Reading stories like this makes me so insane with rage, I want to just mow these fuckers down with some huge-ass gun. I guess I should state that I hate guns and will never own one.

Grown men, Bush's proxies, drugging, gang-raping, imprisoning and then making a woman who was once their co-worker feel like she's garbage. Raping her just wasn't enough for these fuckers. This girl is going to continue being abused by the culture Bush has created, or at the very least, enabled. These past 7 years have allowed a very dark side of America to express itself. And guess what? All these guys raping, looting, killing and drugging it up over in the Middle East are going to eventually end up back here in America. Karma.

In my reactionary mind, if you rape someone, you deserve to die a horrible, gruesome death. If you sexually abuse a child, death and torture are too good for you. My rational mind absolutely despises torture and vigilante justice. All this stuff goes through my mind before I realize I can't even kill a huge, scary spider crawling around in my house--I have a special container I use to capture them with to put them outside. I'm officially insane. Thank you Bush. I never would have known the darkness and ugliness I was capable of had someone like you not been allowed to reign free for so long.
