Another march ... another HERE IN SPIRIT sign!

Another march on Washington is coming. So it's time for another HERE IN SPIRIT sign!

Here in Spirit 1.0
approx. 200 names


Here in Spirit 2.0
approx. 700 names


And now, it's time for 3.0...

This time I would like to put a little something else on it. Here are my ideas:

A Petition
Congress shall make no law ... abridging ... the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

We, the Undersigned
and oversigned, and around-signed, and anywhere on the sign...

demand AN END TO THE WAR

The "Here in Spirit" will either go at the very top or around the border somewhere.

Also, I am thinking about doing a map so I can pinprick each person and where they're from... but that depends on the size of the posterboard I get and how much time I have.

Please note that I am NOT YET ACCEPTING SIGNATURES. This post is for fine-tuning the message, so please give me your feedback and we can see what the best universal message will be.

Please k&r this for visibility and so people know to look out for signature-collecting threads this week. I will be posting one thread each day starting tomorrow.

2. I've posted this innumerable times but since I had to listen to

Mr. Potatohead Russert say to Kennedy AGAIN this morn regarding Dem presidential candidates. . .

"But they voted for the war." THEY DID NOT.

Here's what I wrote again last night. . .

"The odd thing is that the Dems are so often derided for having voted for the IWR. When the idiotic media says, "well they voted for the war. . ."

When the specific wording of that resolution was something to the effect of "the Congress authorized the pres to use force ONLY after gaining UN approval." Yet, the UN NEVER approved it. The inspectors were let back in. Hussein's massive killing days were over and were mostly conducted when Rummy and the gang were supplying him with $$$, WMD's, and arms. Yeah not including the Shia uprising that poppy encouraged in '91.

But still Hussein was purportedly writing romance novels by the time of our invasion. Go figure.

I still foolishly think that if the IWR could be repealed based on the pres's disregard for it's basic and fully ignored "with UN Approval" stipulation, then the hemorraging of funding and our blood and treasure could be stopped, He could be impeached for that and that alone. To say nothing of all the criminality that's transpired since then.

Still I wish he'd just save us the enormously expensive and time consuming hassle and just step down instead of conducting another foolhardy and arrogant "vendetta on failure."

We demand that diplomacy be used to prevent war with Iran and others.
We demand that our troops be redeployed starting 2/1/07 and ending 12/31/07.

5. The map might have to be small

in order to get everyone on it, as I know some expats will want to sign as well, so it won't just be the US. Or you could ask those folks to say what state they were originally from if you feel it should just be a US map.

I did not want to march in zero degree weather, thus I did not make arrangements last fall. I will be watching on C-Span.......I went to the last big March in September 05!
