"w00t" crowned word of year by U.S. dictionary

w00t," an expression of joy coined by online gamers, was crowned word of the year on Tuesday by the publisher of a leading U.S. dictionary.

Massachusetts-based Merriam-Webster Inc. said "w00t" -- typically spelled with two zeros -- reflects a new direction in the American language led by a generation raised on video games and cell phone text-messaging.

It's like saying "yay," the dictionary said.

"It could be after a triumph or for no reason at all," Merriam-Webster said.

And, we were worried about ebonics.

My graphics card in the new laptop is unsupported by steam so the newer steam powered games are out, I have to run on the old half-life engine, not source, or, use the kid's computer to play.

My preference is strategy over straight FPS games, but they are hard to find good ones.

21. I've been on gamer vacation for a while

Last thing I played was Wow- I've pretty much played all the bigger mmorpgs and their betas since EQ came out.

After Christmas when I can afford to build a new computer (mine blew up...no really, it was smoking) I'll be back gaming again. Until then I just sniffle and watch from the side lines on my work pc.
