A Tucker Tease: Coming up--Is Gore teaming up with Bloomberg?
They have been meeting and talking ... what's this all about? Are they planning to team up for a run?

These are old rumors here, I know, but I intend to stay tuned for the speculation. More to come.

1. I would love Al to run but as a democrat
I'm sorry but an independent ticket can not win no matter who is on it. It will just hand the election to the republicans IMO.

4. Tune in to MSNBC now for the latest rumor
I have a hard time seeing Gore run as an independent as well.

6. I am not hopeful this will result in good news for Gore supporters
but I await the upcoming speculation.

Perhaps you are correct....

5. Exactly.
They're likely strategizing to see what they can do to prevent this:

11. Yikes! Reminds me of how New York was imagined ...
... in that Spielberg robot movie a few years back, starring Haley Joel Osment(?) and Jude Law. (IMDB lookup says... 'Artificial Intelligence: AI')

10. That's what I have always thought--this must be a tease
He keeps hinting at the run but going to commercial -- happened twice now. This time he mentions Gore has been seen with Obama, but he's also been spotted having lunch with Bloomberg. Sounds like Tucker will have nothing substantive, but I truly dislike being played....

9. I don't see Al Gore running as a third-party candidate ...
... after what Nader's candidacy did to his run -- and the nation.

He could easily be meeting w/ Bloomberg to discuss what New York could do to move in the "green" direction.

16. My real answer
I am NOT watching; but I am nearby listening. Hillary Rosen speculates Gore will not take the offer.

This basically is the rumor floated here before with the addition of the fact that Tucker has offered: he (Tucker) has a good source. Wonder who that might be? The source said they were NOT discussing global warming.

That's all for now.

14. Tucker has a good source that tells him
Bloomberg has offered Gore a spot on his ticket, presumably as president. Bloomberg will finance the run. The speculation is commencing.

17. I'm not a Gore fan to begin with, but if he wanted to run, why not
just run in the Democratic primary with everyone else? This doesn't make sense. He would cause Dems to lose, probably wouldn't win, and let Repubs take '08. Hope this is a rumor.

18. I think Gore would win regardless of the party label
but he has made a lot of statements about sticking with the Democratic party over the years. However, if he changed his mind and ran as an Independent, I think he could take it. I do not think he would be intimidated by the so-called Clinton machine, as many here suggest. I think he is totally familiar with the Clinton tendencies, and he could deal with them better than anyone.

However, he made that remark recently saying he did not think he would ever be a candidate again, so I assume that's where he's at.

It's interesting to note Tucker did not mention when these meetings occurred. If he's referring to that time period when those rumors floated here, that's simply a foul way to get viewers' attention.

20. Well, I don't think he would win, and he would just make himself look like a
coward and a spoiler by not competing in the Dem primary, so I hope Hillary Rosen was right that he wouldn't do it. What an ugly fight that would be, and it would tear apart the party. I do think Bloomberg will probably run, however, but I was hoping he would run with a Repub and split the GOPer vote.

21. I think Gore is a good guy, I'm just not a big fan. I voted for him--that's good enough.
