Older white women join Kenya's sex tourists

MOMBASA, Kenya (Reuters) - Bethan, 56, lives in southern England on the same street as best friend Allie, 64.

They are on their first holiday to Kenya, a country they say is "just full of big young boys who like us older girls."

Hard figures are difficult to come by, but local people on the coast estimate that as many as one in five single women visiting from rich countries are in search of sex.

6. Sort of. Read the article; it's pretty interesting. What happens is,

the women pick up a guy, take him out to a restaurant or something, maybe buy him something nice (a new shirt, belt, watch, etc.), go to a bar or a dance club, hang out, go to hotel room, have sex, wave goodbye.

Woman gets:
1. Attractive, athletic companion for evening.
2. Sex.

Man gets:
1. To enjoy upper-class lifestyle for evening.
2. Possibly a gift.
3. Sex.

WHat can I say about myself.... I've seen it all. In this case, it's a very veiled, subtle form of "buy a date", otherwise known as prostitution.


Those guys are walking away with way more than small gifts and are doing way more than holding hands.

The prostitutes are poor with few good choices for income. People with money actually in a way, buy them.

I think it's sad.

I'm not judging, just not my kind of fun.

The guys are probably happy to have the opportunity to make some money and/or to have sex. It doesn't sound like anyone's forcing them into anything.

As long as everything is consensual between adults, I don't think there's a problem with it.

Gee, it never occured to me that everyone isn't here 24/7 reading each and every thread as it's posted. Clearly my general comment providing a link was my way of saying exactly that.
