When Representatives Feel No Compulsion To Serve
It's not Democracy anymore. It's not even close.

At least not the Constitutional Democracy which forms the very basis of our Republic.

With Reid pushing through a telecom bill he himself calls, "unwise," despite a clear mandate from the House to not grant retroactive immunity to the telecoms, with a clear voice from the People, Reid is still going to push the bill through.

To the delight of Republicans.

We're not a Democracy anymore folks.

Start getting your minds around that FACT.

1. So this is, what, the twentieth time that America has
totally died this year? This month? This week?

According to disgruntled partisans, America's died every hour on the hour since 1789. Forgive me if I don't rend my clothes.

2. I didn't say America had died
But Democracy is pushing up daisies - that's all I'm saying.

What is America, except a collection of ideas believed in by a whole bunch of people? Can an idea die?

3. They won't
They'll vote many of the same people responsible for this mess back in next time because they don't know any better. Too many people don't get that this isn't a party issue. It's systemic, cross-party, and is inexorably undermining everything Americans "believe" is true about their country.

The owners just keep touching up the facade so no one suspects the foundation is crumbling.
