I know there was a house vote, but that woman has too much power for a position that is not directly voted on by the people. She should not be deciding what the Judiciary Committee is doing.

If I bought a speaker at Best Buy that worked like this, I'd take it back and exchange it.

2. Chimpy appointed her.
Edited on Sat Dec-15-07 12:39 AM by Kutjara
The process was dressed up in a lot of complicated political theater designed to make it look like she was chosen by fellow Congressional Dems, but that's the gist of it. ;)

27. Nancy Pelosi is not on my side. And I have demstrated that
on multiple occasions.

What would you consider the proper response to a representative that shuns her own constituents? Flowers and candy? So, hold the lecture about "hatred". I'm mad as hell at her and with good reason.

4. for fucks sake
Have you forgotten happy you were when she was elected speaker.

Can't you just take your bile and venom elsewhere and act like an adult who has a handle on political events.
You are like a kid who got let down by santa. I'm guessing you are not a student of politics. Why do you think it's a good thing to be spreading venom and hatred?

Ask youself why. What chain of events was in place to knobble congress. Who is behind it. When you have worked this out, then you may be adult enough to start raging blame. Until then, you look like a ranting kid.

10. We were happy when we thought she'd be on OUR side
How were we to know she'd cave to Bush and the DLC on everything that mattered?

23. Then son,
take your toys and go home.

I'm gonna ask you to take a minute or two from your self absorbed life and ask youself, 'How do I make the world a better place by whining like a petulant baby.'

In case you are too self-absorbed to gen the answer, it is, you can't.

26. I was making a calm, and clearly unchallengable, observation.
On all issues that mattered, Pelosi has taken the side of the DLC and Bush against the majority of her party.

This isn't whining, and saying it hardly harms the effort to make the world better(an effort the conservative wing of our party doesn't support, btw).

You can't really refute my observation, because it is the calm obvious truth.

Yes, things were always going to be tough, but surrendering to the Republicans and the right wing of the Dems was never going to make them easier.

Pelosi was elected speaker to fight the power. There was no other reason. She was not chosen to be a bland centrist.

You can't really say the problem is with the progressive majority of the congressional party.

(Oh, and don't call me "son". I know damn well you ain't my dad. And I never condescended towards YOU as an individual).

18. Happened to me when I was six years old. She won because
A four year old girl talked me into playing peepers, the first time I was seduced.
But, I was also cheated on for the first time. There wasn't anything to peep at!

21. Bush is the dictator, Pelosi is acting on behalf of a caucus. Adjust
They can toss her as easily as they elected her. Get real and adjust to the fact that you are not in sync with the majority. When the tide turns, you will see how inevitability works.

14. A mistake, an accident, never should have happened.
I would like a refund, but then I never contributed to her campaign. I did believe to some very small degree though that with a majority something would change. Naive to say the least. We knew better.
