WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Attorney General Michael Mukasey on Friday rejected lawmakers' demands for information as the Justice Department investigates the destruction of tapes showing CIA interrogations of two al Qaeda suspects.

In letters to the House and Senate Judiciary committees, Mukasey also said he would not appoint a special prosecutor to conduct the investigation, as some lawmakers had requested.

3. Sorry, but California screwed up its chance to oust Feinstein in '06

Cindy Sheehan was going to run against Feinstein in the Democratic primary. Then Barbara Boxer had a "come to Jesus" meeting with Cindy that effectively killed the campaign in the crib. So Feinstein stomped the other anti-war primary challenger into the ground, and now we're stuck with this gun-grabbing, torture-enabling DINO until 2012.

5. Mukasey was the lessor of two evils.

He will only be in the job for a year and I am sure he will do as little as possible. His main job is to protect Bush and that will keep him busy enough. Let's hope that the next person to hold this job will prosecute a few corrupt politicians.
