Because that seems to be the major reason many people give our Congressional do-nothings a pass for their inaction on the subversion of the Constitution and Congressional oversight.

"Sigh, we really can't do anything, our hands are tied, because we don't have a veto-proof majority and it would really just be a waste of time and we might alienate people who don't agree with us anyway."

2. No, that's an excuse, and a tired one.
Now, you'll be attacked for Democrat bashing because you didn't mention the handful of accomplishments Congress has made, despite the fact that those are the least we could expect.

3. It's a cop-out for non-involvement.
The old "our government is doing their job" with an :eyerolly: thrown in for disapproving. It amounts to condoning the policies of this regime, IMO.

4. It's a good thing those folks weren't running things in 1776.
When taking on the world's strongest empire was a little dicey and had little chance of success.

5. Veto Proof Majority?
Is it really just needing a veto-proof majority that's the problem?

It will be impossible to get a veto-proof majority when so many voters belong to the religion of FOX.

There are millions of them, and they're everywhere. Even in hippie-centric Pelosi's district.

When we can convince those GOPsheep that they're being lied to and taken for fools and used as cannon fodder, then you can not only have a veto-proof majority, but lots more...and we can finally get back to being America again.

6. What the Dems could be doing is holding hearings
on every scandal the Administration has had or is going to have. My two thoughts on the Dems are they either learned nothing from the way the Repukes treated Clinton or they were castrated by 9/11. All this talk about how the Dems can't do anything without a veto-proof majority is bullshit. Why is it the Repukes went ahead with impeachment proceedings even though they did not have the votes for it to pass the Senate but the Dems can't? The Repukes tried to impeach a president for lying about a blowjob, knowing damn well he wouldn't get impeached, yet the Dems won't do the same thing to a man who has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths with the stroke of his pen, subverted the Constitution, taken away our civil liberties, etc, etc, hell I forget half the shit Bush has done...
