School district considering banning animals from classroom

STUDENT'S BEST FRIEND? SCHOOL DISTRICT CONSIDERING POLICY BANNING ANIMALS FROM CLASSROOMS.

The students of Room 18 at Kalmiopsis Elementary School are greeted every day by a familiar face: He stands approximately two feet tall and wears tight rose-colored curls.

His name is Rosebud, a standard size red poodle, and Kalmiopsis students can't seem to get enough of him.

When asked when they like to spend time with Rosebud, the students shout out, "During story time," "Walking and jog time," "All the time," "When he does tricks," and "Every time of the day."

But soon those students may have to face the inevitable: Saying goodbye to Rosebud and other animals that have been coming to Brookings-Harbor schools for many years.
