1. I mentioned this on the Malloy thread, too.
It doesn't say what channel will air it, or what time. But I assume it'll be on XM 167 live at 9 PM, pre-empting EcoTalk and Jon Elliott on Air America.

2. If you check the XM site for the XM167 schedule...
neither Eco-Talk or Jon Elliott are listed.

4. Any hope for getting Hartmann on XM?
It was hard streaming him today with all the music breaks. I refuse to listen to Big Ed.

8. I've been wondering just how to wear my computer as a necklace so
that I can stream Hartmann from 12 - 3 and not feel like I have to hang around the general area of my computer! We purchased a pair of outdoor speakers for the warmer months, but we haven't been able to devise a way to stream Hartmann live through the outdoor speakers as yet.

I do plan to call XM tomorrow to see if we can reach an agreement on discounting my subscription rate for those 3 hours for 5 days a week for a year.

9. I turn up the speakers very loud, and turn one toward the kitchen
or wherever I am. I called XM, got nowhere.

7. Answers and Speculation -
1) Malloy should be on XM167 at his normal 'live' hours

2) AFAIK, XM167 will remain being called "Air America" (and BELIEVE ME, it sticks in Schultz craw to make the AAR Promos saying he's on AAR).

3) Thom Hartmann - keep calling, emailing and writing. This is the reason Schultz is on now.

4) The Merger -

a) not a done deal, still has the FCC to get thru

b) unknown how this will affect the programming, but there are at least a dozen channels in the talk/entertainment area that are dups or can be combined.

c) *RUMOR*RUMOR*RUMOR* is that they may go to a 'tiered pricing model' (if you don't want the NFL/MLB/NASCAR/ETC you wont have to pay for it)

d) expect to see radios that will receive both services 'very very soon' if the merger is approved

f) more when I hear it.

10. thanks, Rosco T. For those who don't buy the new receivers...

I assume they will be stuck with Sirius or XM content, but not able in any way to get the other?

Pardon my ignorance on this... I was just wondering if there might not be some kind of intermediate transmitter that could send from one set of satellites to the other so that one could receive both signals without upgrading equiment...
