5. And CNN just had a chyron up saying that the Secret
Service does not believe the fire was purposely set and they believe it started in an electrical box.

BULLSHIT!

The first statement that make is that it wasn't set on purpose. Shit, my little apartment fire took 17 days to get the final report on the cause. These guys just happened to know before the goddamn fire was even put out.

What evidence was burned on purpose this morning?

And what's this I hear about the FBI not allowing the fire department to do their job and investigate this fully?

Criminals is too weak a work for these madmen.

10. And above all, are there not fire sprinklers in his office?
If not, why not? If so, why didn't they work?

Did they work, but not put out the fire? If that's the case, this was more than just a simple electrical fire. Nothing to see here, move along.

I think we're going to need a new nickname for The Dick/Shooter/Darth, maybe "Firestarter"?

52. It is an historic building, I think built in the 1800's
There are no sprinklers in the building. They also called it a 2 alarm fire. BS! I saw at least 10 fire engines racing down there, down at least 5 different streets towards the OEOB. I take that to mean that they came from different fire houses. You could smell something burning several blocks away, and everything was very smokey. They went down Connecticut Ave, 17th St, 16th St, 15th St, and 14th St. And there were sirens going everywhere.

9. Even if this really is an accidental fire
you just KNOW that they'll use this as an excuse to have a huge number of documents disappear.

"oops. Burned up in the fire. No, really, all those documents were coincidentally on that floor, in those rooms and now they're all gone."

14. There's always the chance it WAS an accident.
After thinking about it, I think that the less it's mentioned on the evening news, the greater the chance it was set on purpose. If we see a major news distraction before the evening news comes on, then it's a sure bet it was arson.

Edited on Wed Dec-19-07 05:13 PM by Buns_of_Fire
I picture him eating the still-beating hearts of his victims, over the barbeque pit of hell, chanting "ug moom wa wa... ug moom wa wa...". Sorta like an Indiana Jones movie.

But you'd think there'd be enough waterboarding equipment over in the corner to put out a small blaze here and there.

23. OMG
this is outrageous. 15 fire trucks and secret service all around.. this blaze will only burn what it was intended to burn and there is no way anyone will know if an electrical outlet or a phone bank caused it... however, just to put a little breeze b/t my head and my tinfoil hat, I wonder what the likelihood that someone who has been ordered to turn over tapes, papers, etc. would also just so happen to have a fire?

not to mention earlier versions of this b.s., like Gonzalez giving everyone time to shred docs in what seems like a million criminal years ago. I wonder if bastard years are like dog years? One bastard year is the equivalent of four human years? feels like it.

why can't someone simply arrest the administration, in toto, for abuse of power and treason - plame, failure to uphold the constitution, signing statements, denial of separation of powers or equal powers of the three branches...

at what point is this administration such a liability to the entire free world that someone decides Yeltsin, I mean Bush, needs a vacation and Cheney has to be hospitalized b/c of his (lack of) heart? Since we have gulags and denial of habeas corpus or equal protection... surely the politburo knows something has to be done, esp. since the dems didn't use the power they had after the midterm elections.

Isn't that the way leaders are changed in totalitarian nations? vote for the show, but the powers-that-be fight it out among themselves.

I have this feeling that the ground has given out underneath this country but we're all still standing - however it's only a matter of time before it all gives way under the weight of this corruption.

36. Naomi Wolf and others
have noted that the lead up to the coming election is a very dangerous time. the junta has lost popular support, the media is finally mentioning some of their outrageous abuses of power...

rats in a corner are vicious.

that's why I ask who, at the politburo, is going to check this mess. Pelosi is not going to hold impeachment hearings if she can help it. If this were a Shakespearean tragedy, Bush Sr. would have to be the one to oust the executive branch, as Jr. howls to the winds about the treachery of family.

if this were a mob story, Bush Sr. would be ordered to find a home among the fishes for this admin. Since this is a primarily wasp criminal organization, what do they do? They get ostracized from the country club and the admin doesn't get to join the board of the Carlyle group? but how do they contain these wize geys until the next election? Pull out the pix of the drunken sex with a hooker from Manitoba?
