Dear Representative Wexler, Representative Baldwin and Representative Gutierrez,

Thank you for your recent efforts to secure hearings for the impeachment of Vice President Cheney. The overwhelming response to your petition is proof that Americans support your call for immediate hearings. It is appropriate that members of the House Judiciary Committee use the powers of their offices to to secure progress for impeachment.

I urge you to introduce more Articles of Impeachment from the House floor ASAP. The high crimes and misdemeanors of Dick Cheney are numerous and well documented. A formal introduction of more Articles will serve to strengthen the case for impeachment, advance the national dialogue about Executive abuse of power, and ultimately, restore the US Constitution. Every day that Vice President Cheney is in office puts Americans at risk. Please do not allow Congress to adjourn without impeachment!

You will remember that during the Nixon era, there were some 25 separate bills and resolutions in Congress calling for impeachment and investigations. Let's make the charges against Dick Cheney come from many Representatives, and match his many high crimes with an equal number of Articles.

I urge you to introduce an Article of Impeachment regarding violations of FISA, a felony, this week. Ample evidence to convict is already on public record. Please follow this by introducing Articles regarding torture, stripping Americans of their rights, outing Valerie Plame, and obstructing justice by denying subpoenas. You can introduce an article every day until hearings begin.

Please do not wait until January. I urge you to introduce more Articles against Dick Cheney before Congress adjourns. Let's bring justice home now. With your help, we can restore the rule of law.

In this matter, all Americans are your constituents. Thank you for honoring your oath of office.
