Another Sexist bash about a US Congresswoman |
|
A US Congresswoman from New York has gotten pregnant. Some nut in her district has written a letter to the Glen Falls, New York newspaper and ranted and raved that she is now pregnant. And that because of that she may not be able to perform her daily duties in congress. And that women shouldn't be elected to serve.
The whole stupid letter is over at Crooks and Liars. Can you believe in 2007 some body is complaining about a woman getting pregnant. Remember when Alan Specter was absent from the Senate all that time when he had brain surgery, for cancer. Maybe the guy should have written a letter telling Specter next time don't get cancer. Altho a pregnancy is usually by choice it amounts to the same thing.

2. Not as bad, but still bad, is the implication about fatherhood |
|
The letter writer seems to be implying that men who become fathers wouldn't have that impact their work lives too. Not exactly the model of fatherhood we should be setting...
