Zoe Baird, Kimba Wood, Janet Reno, and Hillary Clinton: Transition 2008
Remember http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoe_Baird">Zoe Baird?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kimba_Wood">Kimba Wood?

This time next year, the transition will be in full swing.

Not that I think she'll be measuring draperies and drawing up short lists, but if she is, has she learned the lessons of 92?

2. Not in the Least ...
... but, taking that illogical argument (inevitability) to its logical conclusion, we arrive at Transition 2008, which begs the questions of the OP.

... after this Administration, even the ones that are supposed to be science-based, like the Surgeon General position (another mis-step from Clinton history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joycelyn_Elders).

6. Clinton Started with a Friendly Congress and Lost It; History Repeats?
Then there's Mark Penn as a glaring exhibit of poor judgment, right in the here and now.

she had no security clearance and her role in decisions are probably overstated. Now back to your games. How many "guesses" do you have left?

17. Oh please
like a army of people weren't screaming all at the same time on who to pick. For that matter why not blame the picks on Monica? I am sure her mouth was close enough to his ear. Once again how is this game played? You are losing me on the rules or should i say lack of rules.

Let's establish that rule first. Clintonites cannot have it both ways on this one.

19. So go after Monica too. She was close to the pres. why such a hard on for clintons?
You remind me of that fat radio guy who has a permanent erection when it comes to the Clinton's. I know you are not that person but damn, stop the Viagra will ya.

if you want to really present facts that she "Forced" Bill to nominate people then do so. until you do that, it is indeed just a little game of yours.

20. Who Said "Forced"?
Leaving aside the question of whether she had any influence over nominations, and if so, how much, her proximity to the epicenter should have taught her something.

Did it?

That's the point of the OP, your attempts to drag it into territory it didn't venture notwithstanding.

21. The OP seems to insinuate
that HRC was strategically involved in those nominations. Until proof is presented, it is a false claim and no more than a cry for help. Seriously droop the Viagra.

23. Sorry I was in Saudi Arabia at that time
so i didn't get much US propaganda reports during that time. Still i think it a stretch that she made any significant input on noms. I do remember Rush ranting about that same issue though <AFRN>. Well it was listen to Armed Forces Radio or the local stations. I didn't understand either but at least the songs on the local stations were cool.

I was Navy ROTC briefly, but Crohn's is non-waiverable.

: (

I took my oath as a midshipman right around the time Saddam was using human shields.

The 92 election was the first in which I could vote, and I paid careful attention to the transition.

You might find George Stephanopoulos' book, "All Too Human: A Political Education," to be an interesting read re: Hillary's role.

25. I served but this was
a humanitarian gig. Rebuilt some tech infrastructure and such. Actually Bills winning the election is what brought me back to the states. I was an ex-pat for quite a few years and was about to apply for German citizenship. Wish i had now.

27. Yes. We were on a compound in Saudi
and flew in and out of Kuwait every day. There were too many mines and booby traps to live there. I grew up in Morgan county. I no longer live there but do get back at least once a month.

12. I remember Baird because I worked at Aetna at the time
I think that if a Democrat pulls the upset and wins in 2008, no matter who it is, there will be one cabinet nominee that will get the RW up in arms and the president will be forced to withdraw the nomination...

Even if we pick up a net 5+ seats in the Senate and a net 15+ seats in the House, it will happen.

15. After 1988
Edited on Thu Dec-27-07 11:32 AM by NewJeffCT
After Dukakis had lost the election in '88, I didn't follow politics too closely for most of the 90s. I was upset about '88 and Dukakis' poor campaign, and also spent most of the 90s more concerned about trying to chase women than thinking about politics.

So, I wouldn't have noticed the transition in '92 beyond the high profile stuff like Baird/Wood. Didn't it also come out that Wood had worked at a Playboy Club, too?

16. 92 Was the First Presidential Election ...
... in which I could vote, and I was in college (so lots of time). I had multiple newspapers going, and was hooked into every proto-database I could get my hands on.

; )

Kimba Wood was only a trainee PB Bunny. She decided on Harvard Law instead.
